To: President Odie MacGarfield of the United States of America
From: Emperor Meiji of the Japanese Empire
Dear Odie MacGarfield,
I, Emperor of Japan, would like to request a trade deal with the American people to strengthen our bond and to strengthen our economy. We are in need of great help with our revolution and changing economic system. The people of Japan greatly admire the U.S. economic system and would greatly appreciate your help to Japanese Peoples.

Sincerely,
Emperor Meiji

To: President Odie MacGarfied of America

Geography matters less than culture and language. It's completely inappropriate for someone with such staggeringly different traditions, no matter how close they are geographically, to rule an underprivelidged people.

Spain already controls Cuba and Puerto Rico. The Caribbean Sea is a safe distance, as opposed to right next door in Portugal, and obvioulsy Spain has other obligations than to stir up hostilities with you.

You have said, you have more ships, more troops, more money, etc.--Haiti is going to fare far better under Spanish rule, with similar traditions and language, and having ruled the island for more than a century, as opposed to some new and foreign power that has proven its society has troubles with racial equality.

Haiti and Hispanola being controlled by Spain will hurt no more to you than a portion of North Africa being controlled by America would to us. See the reason in this operation, no one will be killed, no one will be hurt, there will be no subjugation of minorities, and it is in the best interests of both Spain and the Haitians.

War does us very little good, Mr. President. Prove to me you are not interested in it.

To: Shogun of the Japaneese Empire
From: President Odie MacGarfield of the U.S.A

We would gladly trade with our Japaneese brethren to help further our friendship. We do however have a requests that we wish for you to comply with: Do not trade with the Spanish untill matters of the Carribean have been solved. And if America was to invade the Spanish held Phillipenes (sp?) that you will assist.

We hereby offer Japan a MPP

King Alfonso XII of Spain
To quote you: Geography matters less than culture and language. It's completely inappropriate for someone with such staggeringly different traditions, no matter how close they are geographically, to rule an underprivelidged people.

You are clearly stating that you are taking theese islands as a way to enlargen your empire. If the U.S.A was to take those islands, we would guide them, not rule them. If Spain is as interested in peace as they claim, perhaps they would agree to a splitting of the island i two, and then after 10 years we would see wich side of the island is richer...... or are you just full of it?

To: President MacGarfield
From: Shogun of Japan

We gladly accept your offer with open arms:). And if you are to take the phillipenes we will help you with one request that does not have to be fulfilled: Is it posible that we may get 25% of the western-most land? We will be in deepest gratitude with you and will help with any other upcoming war that the American people have on their hands.

We hereby accept America's MPP and offer 25% of the West Phillipenes

[OOC]Dark Wanderer,
I looked in my encyclopedia and the historic ruler of Japan was that of the Meiji dynasty, and the Shogunate was expelled in 1867, so an appropriate name would be Emperor Meiji, or something to that effect (it didn't actually mention the emperor's name). [/OOC]

To: Shogun _____ of Japan
We in Spain are interested in colonial expansion in far East Asia. We are well aware of your nations raw-materials defecit and would be willing to trade you some Spanish Iron ore and Steel. We also have a fair amount of coal which would help you to build a powerful, modern navy.

We hope that you will reject the American MPP as it serves no purpose as to further America's expansion, which ultimately threatens the strength of already well-established powers. We would be willing to help you in China, should you feel it necessitated, and other theatres in Asia, so long as it did not force Spain to come to blows with her European brethren.

Accept Spain's friendly hand so that we may cooperate and bring about prosperity and expansion of our enlightened nations.

To: Shogun of the Japanese Empire
From: President Odie MacGarfield of the U.S.A
We in America hope that war will not emerge between Us and Spain. But if it did, we would gladly give you the northern most part of the phillipenes. If you require help in China we will provide it. If you want iron ore, coal and steel, we will trade you it. I do encourage you to accept Spains friendly hand, but to hold off any trades with them untill the Carribean issue has been solved. Untill then we shall help modernize your nation.

To All of Europe
The Austra-Hungary Empire feels it is in there best interest to annex the territorities of the balkans. With the expansion of all other european nations in foreign lands. We feel its our right to seize and secure all unoccupied territorities bordering our nation. It is the only way our nation can expected to keep up with its neighbors, in spreading their values and order to the backward lawless areas. If any nation has any reason to object to our annex of these territorites. Let them now present their case. Before our forces are fully mobilized and marching all the way to the Bulgarian border.

To: King Alfonso XII of Spain
From: Emperor Meiji of Japan
We are sorry but we will hold off on your offer do to the lack of coal and steel in the first place to build fast enough ships to sail to your glorius empire in Europe. Also if we did we estimate a great cost of slow and wasted incomes when the USA is next door. My analysts estimate half the time to sail to America and more profits. Also because of the shorter journey we will loose less ships en route.

But we Gladly accept your help in China. We are preparing a massive invasion and will need your help with it. We offer the western-most part of the country in return for your help. Also be warned that American troops will also be helping us. I your troops and their troops get into a fight we will be forced to escort your men under heavy cover to your land in the west. Once we have resources enough to trade over the 30,000 kilometer route we will employ it immediatly.

To: President MacGarfield
Dear Mister President,
We gladly accept your Iron ore, Coal, and Steel to trade to us. We will accept certain steel metals until we can make them ourselves; to minimize unemployment. We will also accept your help with China. But alert your admirals and commanders that Spain is also helping us in the conflict. If your troops start fighting with theirs, we will be forced to escort you and Spain fromn China under heavy cover. No hard feelings, just proceedures.

[OOC] Thanks for the info toasty :D [/OOC]

To: Emperor Meiji of Japan
If transportation is that much of a problem, I would be willing to send ships to Manila bay from Spain if you will pick up the materials there.

To: King Alfonso XII
Well then i will gladly acceot the trade deal. but limited because of american imports. i will limit theirs too.

To: President MacGarfield
I will have to limit your imports because of spanish material also being imported. sorry for this but we want to maximize relations to their fullest with you and spain

OOC: Japan, I suggest either you have a smaller army or a smaller navy, cause if your income is only large then you wouldn't be able to have armed forces which add up to more than the UK's, which has huge income.

What I mean is you have a navy the same size as us, yet you have an army that is larger! Surely if your income is less, then the best you could hope for is to equal Britain? I suggest a one level decrease in one of the fields.

Sorry to sound petty, but just trying to help make the game even!

Breaking news: Californian shipyards have begun the construction of several warships. We now expect that the US Navy should be come large in only two years now, unless delayed.

And as a response for the increased hostilities in the Carribean, the American Navy has been put on full alert. Local militias have been started by worried Southerners as a defensive precaution.

In the Pacific, Military vessels have been seen moving out of the San Francisco harbor. What their mission is, is unclear, but they were accompanied of what could be either troop transports or tradeing vessels

To: King Alfonso XII of Spain
From: President Odie MacGarfield of the U.S.A

As you still havent responded to our latest message, is the U.S supposed to asume that the time for peaceful negotiations is over? I hope not and my armed forces will wait a while longer for the order to attack, but beware they all have itchy trigger fingers.

To: Emperor Meijin of the Japanese Empire
From: President Odie MacGarfield of the U.S.A

If war comes to the Pacific, i hope that You will make the right decisions as to who you will support. The U.S has already promised to help modernize the Japanese society and its armed forces, and trade them anything they need. If war comes i hope that you will stand firmly by your MPP with America.

To: Franz Josef, Emperor of Austria, King of Hungary
From: President Odie MacGarfiel of the U.S.A

The United States of America feels that Europes business is Europes business and we will not interfere with your war in any way. We do hope that you will trade with the U.S and we can help modernize your economy if you would wish for that.

To: Prime Minister Disraeli of England
From: President Odie MacGarfield of the U.S.A

As war is coming closer on the Carribean waters, and the Spanish have expressed agression towards British Gibraltar, we cannot stress the importance enough that we ally together so we both can be able to remove valuable forces from the Canada-U.S.A border and relocate them were they would serve a greater purpose. I believe that a MPP would serve our two nations greatly.

"Sir! The French seem to be starting a free for all trade to try and rival ours!" the Foreign Secretary cried.

"Don't worry, remember that the British Empire is only allowed to trade with Britain! It means that they get good money for their goods, we get the raw materials we need, and more that we can sell at a higher price to others! France can never take us on, they don't have enough power in the world."

"Sir, what about the Spain/USA problem?"

"Tell the Americans that we shall sign a non-aggression pact with them, but not a mutual protection pact as we don't want to end up in a war with Spain."

"And Spain sir?"

"Tell Spain they touch Gibraltar and they will feel the full might of the British Empire. Now tell them to give up on the Rock, cause they aren't getting it back, ever."

"Who do we think Haiti should go to?"

"Depends. If there really is more Spanish ex-patriots there, then Spain of course. Otherwise, I suggest it be allowed to fend for itself, or neutral Britain should bring it into our democratic empire." Disraeli smiled. He loved the British Empire, and would do anything to guarantee its place as the foremost power in the world.

"Finally, it seems the Afghan war is nearly over, the Afghans have reclaimed their territory that we abandoned, and seem to have accepted the gift of gold we left to stop them attacking our fortified positions."

"They'll get massacred trying to attack those anyway." Disraeli laughed.

"Finally sir, the South African problem. It seems the natives there are getting restless again."

"Impose martial law should it become too bad, and hunt out the leaders. Also begin to increase the British army to medium, and make sure you keep the Royal Navy larger than any other known to mankind!"
