NES PREVIEW: Settling Accounts

@ Sheep - Alscae-Lorainne is vastly oversized on your map, and where is holland and belgium?

Later annexion programs wanted burgundy to be annexed, too. Maybe he did include that silently...

@ Panda, Belguim and Holland were annexed by Germany at the end of the Great War.

Rules Clarification

To get more Oil and Food SUpplies you will have to trade for it. For the time being you will have enough to feed your populace for at least the next turn.

Each turn is a quater of a year. So this means each turn will be a season, and diffrent tactics are required in Winter than in Summer, REMEMBER THIS.

Industrial Production Points can be brought. You get a 10% increase for a 2 spending point investment. You can only increase this stat once a turn. Also on a turn that you do increase the Industrial Production, your production will suffer an undertermined number of % points derrived by my trusty 20 sided dice.

Ultimatley I will assign the probabilities of military actions occuring ONCE I have worked out what everyone wishes to do. Then I will roll my trusty 20 sided dice. So if you lose your battles, DON'T BLAME ME, BLAME MR. DICEROLL (the dice)

You may. I have worked out all the governments and about half way through the nation descriptions.

Stats are about 15% complete. IT will take SOME time, and I am not giving up on a social life to get them done in the space of a weekend. Having said this if they do take longer than I expect then I will provide ample opportunity for all to diplome, write stories and submit orders before the first update. I am not cruel, but I am harsh. If it aint my fault I wont be lenient, except in extenuating circumstances: eg you favourite aunt just kicked the bucket and left you a million dollars (if this does happen, call me, I will be happy to help you spend the money)

HAving said this if you are the kind of person who cant get orders in on time because of say homework, YOU WILL FIND YOURSELF AT A DISADVANTAGE. The deadline will be Enforced and there will be little warning given, and no post to let you know if you have missed out. I can understand a couple of minutes overdue, but anything more than that and its up to my mood of the day. You dont want to be trusting my mood after a day of selling insurance over the phone to stupid, stoned and drunk yokels who have little money and lots of idiotic expectations.

Btw, knowing your stance on this, I assume that we don't really need to send long, detailed and utterly inflexible tactical orders, but instead content ourselves with general, strategic ones. Correct?

That is up to you. With long orders I will pick out the things you will want to do and write them down. I roll dice based on personally assigned probabilities to give the nes some aura of fairness to it. Once I find out how the battles are panning out I might go back to the more detailed orders for a bit of extra fluff to make the updates that much more intresting.

You know I've heard about this story alot. Never knew what happened but whatever, SHeep do you have the book on this? Okay then I've always wanted to take up being a rebel I claim Transvaal.

I have the first Settling Accounts book although I admit in certain areas of the world I did ad lib (the books mainly focus on the Americas with small refrence to Europe and none to the rest of the world.)

IMHO Africa wouldn't be so German. For instance, I could scarcely see Britain give up *so much* without an American-German invasion of Britain which, though possible, will just not be worth it. That and I don't see Algiers becoming German, though the rest is probably fair game.

You are probably right, I am going to alter the map somwhat to reflect that. I also noticed the map showed a Panama Canal. The Canal was never dug due to war threats between both the CSA and the USA up the lead up of the Great War.

Hmmm maybe I won't take the Boers after all, they don't seem to be in on any of the action and personally I want to be nearby, hmmm I think I'll take Mexico.

Just wanted to say that ive read the book (settling of accounts - return engagement? havent read any others in the series), and that this looks interesting :). Though I dont think i can play without slowing down my DNES updates further and thus recieveing extra cyber-hate which i dont want.

Confederates=nazis, they must be stopped before its too late!

If only there were some maps there...

Speaking of the book does anyone know when the next one is coming out? And Mormon terrorist, who the heck would have imagined?
