NES World/Regional Maps II

I have discovered a fairly good site for generating random world maps. They look pretty damn realistic, although I'm not sure if they could be used for NESes.

You could convert them pretty easily with Photoshop to a NES suitable map.

Hehe, I must be the last person in the world who doesn't have photoshop, but if anybody is willing to convert one of the maps generated at that site, that would be cool.

By the way, another example:

eh, they aren't that realistic, I think. The plates don't fit together well, and all of the islands look like shreeded cheese, no areas like Indonesia or north of Canada on them.

I agree about the island thing, I wish it wouldn't do that, but I've yet to find a better map generator.

Here's a New Years Gift from me :
I always thought that Plexus made the best world map for NESing. But I think many did not choose it due to many small islands and peninsulas that are a pain to color. I deleted many of the small islands, keeping as many of essential ones as I felt. Hope mods will use this map more often...

I think the main reason nobody used that map was because it was too big, and Russia-to-India part of Asia is an awkward shape.

Well, I agree with the being too large part. But that can be fixed with Photoshop, da?

The Map is nice, but you are missing many of those Northern Canadian Islands that are a crucial part to Canada. Also, Northern North America, and Greenland look a bit . . . aberrant . . .

But, it looks good.

I don't much care for that map, it is too big and every time God looks at Central Asia, Alaska or the North Atlantic, he kills a kitten.

Plexus, I think one of the main reasons they aren't used is there are no rivers or stuff like that... *hint hint*

Plexus you should work on a newer version I always had problems with the shape of France :\... And add rivers

My newest additions to my best random map yet, I think just the rivers and climates and stuff and I'll be all set for a random map NES.

Great map!

Two suggestions:

1. The coastline on the far left continent is a little too straight. You might want to add some more bays and penninsulas.

2. The island chains around the far southern continent all seem like they're pointing at it. Maybe you should rotate some of them.

Thanks. I understand that, that particular continent I didn't pay enough attention to since it was a much later addition.

Hmm... I dunno. I kinda like that area, but if it doesn't look right...

One more thing: it seems a little small, and maps fill up awfully fast, so maybe you should just double the dimensions, while keeping the map the same- you have enough detail that it will still look good.
