Is von Dunkelheit baltic? ;)

...... actually ..... :crazyeye:
Some of the Baltic states were part of East prussia, which belonged to German prussia whos history has been influeced by norse mythology and costumes of scandinavia. Therefore is not that crazy.

Petran too could work, you had the Normans take north france, the normans were viking scandinavians in france, therefore........ well :p

To Japanese Colonists
I specifically stated "From Edo", and no harm came of your colonizing

OOC: I dont understand how a civil war would be possible in this environment.y culture is very high, and my people are extremely confident in my leader. They understand that a civil war would be suicide and an invititation for an invasion of the Juang, thus anyone who wants to preserve their power would just turn around and kill these dumba** (thats how theyd see them) rebels before they ruin the Japanese empire. I would expect that the civil war would go nowhere, with there being no need or reason for a civil war in the first place, and with absoultely no wanting of it by the people.

The Pope of Tolouse officially declares a crusade against the Berber pagans, and asks "all the true Christians to chastise them mightily!".

Patriarch of Trebzond arrived in Knossos and blessed the Cretan fleet, raising moral.

Yes... but what about the desert? Berbers were never conquered because that they could always retreat to the desert and wage campaign from there! The Devil helps them, and good Christians could never find their traces!

1 ship - 1 battalion. I know its alittle unrealistic...

LOL, I don't know really. I need to sort of get this Japan thing sorted out.

Where is Erik's powerbase? Where is Josef's powerbase?

And btw, Josef - when there are several competitors for power, then why not? Do remember that many people support Erik as well, and a growing provincial minority is on Tokugawa's side.

You forget that I'm the original leader, with the oldest bloodline (oldest post) and all that. You're the civil warmonger, as far as I'm concerned. So all your arguments are belong to me.

My powerbase can be in whatever city is oldest and most revered but possibly not the one with the biggest recruiting.

We understand your concern. But the most important thing is to end their raids upon our shipping. Perhaps all we have to do is deny them access to ports?

We could fortify the parts we are able to conquer (the coastline) and prevent the Berbers from building ships. That would atleast eleminate the pirate problem. As the next step we should just bring the true faith to them. If we converted them into Christians they would soon turn from barbarian people into civilized humans.

To: Visgoth noblemen

You have heard the pope! To beat the infidel Berbers we need a strong fleet and a strong army. Prepare yourselves. Our crusade against the barbarians will start next year!

To: Visgothia, Lombardia, Alexandrine Empire
From: Cretan Republic

Here is an example of how the Berber lands could be divided.
Alexandrines would be the obvious choice for the furthest right, as it is adjacent to their lands.
The Lombards would get the capital area, not too far away from their homeland.
The Visgothians would get the straits area.
The Cretans would get the Atlantic area.

Of course, this can be modified according to your preferences.

We are happy with this division. If the others agree too, this will be our plan. And every nation not involved in this treaty will not get any land! Theur troops will be welcome in our crusade, but only nations who are threatened by the berber presence will get territory.

OOC: In my country we have a saying: "to divide a pelt of an un-killed bear" (rough translation), but I guess you know what I mean :).
IC: Severoslavia would support her allies Lombaridans in such a war.

OOC: "Don't sell the pelt before you've shot the bear" is decent.

Still OOC: So when are the others posting their powerbases and rebels?

OOC: You mean like don't count your chickens before they hatch?

Oldest post? check the first post after Das'

EDIT: ah i see erik DID claim it a long time ago... but panda's is completely unbased

and my "power base" is the japanese people and army :p

that and im the emperor

The emperor paced the halls of the Imperial Palace.

His long lost uncle, who had dissapeared after a weekend out hunting, had come back to claim the throne as rightfully his, and was attempting to gain some support, beginning with some colonists on the newly aquired colony of okinawa. In the South on the Island of Kyushu a upstart warlord named "Togukawa" was attempting to raise an army and claim the emperorship as well.

"What should I do ancestors!?" cried Emperor Takaguwa

He realized that the vast majority of the people were behind him, but that means nothing if the Juang empire were to attack. He did not want civil war both to preserve his own power AND to prevent a war which would pit brother against brother, decimating the Japanese people in a way not seen since the great civil wars of the 1100's.

"No, something must be done!'

He decided that now was not the time to dwell and think about the well being of his enemies, for his allies, the people, would be the ones to suffer. The only way would be to defeat the enemy in a decisive battle...

General Yakazuma, Takaguwa's most loyal of subjects, sat on his horse outside the royal stables at Edo. He had heard rumors that he was to be mobolized to defend the emperor, and rushed over to see if this was true. On the way a rival general, Kagazaki, had talked to Yakazuma about betraying the emperor! Yakazuma would hear none of this, and he quickly removed his head from its body before the man had blinked. He took his head and presented it to the emperor and requested to be given control of his former army, and was granted so. He now controlled the greatest division of the emepror's army, and wanted to prove his worth...
