Treaty of Pozsony
As Established by Principals of the Holy Roman Empire and Kingdom of Hungary
We, the undersigned representatives of the Holy Roman Empire and of the Kingdom of Hungary, do hereby establish to settle the state of war which has existed between those two nations, and to resolve the disputed sovereignty of the territory herein to be known as North Hungary. Whereas a state of war has caused considerable expense and suffering for both States and their peoples, we hereby resolve to prevent the recurrence of such hostilities and to establish lasting peace between the Holy Roman Empire and Kingdom of Hungary.
We do hereby resolve the following:
Article the First: The Holy Roman Empire shall cede sovereignty and title to the territory herein known as North Hungary to the administration of the Kingdom of Hungary.
Article the Second: The royal national government of the Kingdom of Hungary, nor its constituent administrations or subdivisions, shall not infringe upon the liberty of any and all ethnic Germans residing within the territory herein known as North Hungary, and shall assure to those people political freedom and complete enfranchisement in the Hungarian state.
Article the Third: Wherein it may the desire of any person or family of German ethnicity formerly residing in the territory herein known as North Hungary to emigrate from that territory and take up residence within the extant Holy Roman Empire, the royal nation government of the Kingdom of Hungary shall assist and in no way hinder those persons in emigrating from North Hungary and into the Holy Roman East Mark.
Article the Fourth: Wherein the Holy Roman and Hungarian states desire never to repeat the painful and costly hostilities of these last two years, and endeavour to spare their peoples the suffering of war, the Holy Roman Empire and the Kingdom of Hungary do hereby agree to enter into a Pact of Non-Aggression of indefinite duration.
This we do resolve by the grace of Almighty God.
