You last half your army this turn. I consider that a sucess. Anyway this saber rattling is pointless, does anyone wish to propose a deal or should we fight to the death with a great deal of atrocities and carnage?

Scandinavia does not commit atrocities to captured POWs or Muscovy towns people. Only Muscovy seems to do that. Carnage will occur yes, and Muscovy soldiers will bleed red into the ground until the Tsar hangs in the center of Stockholm for his crimes...

Yeah sure whatever....

Let the blood spill and the cities burn!!

OOC:

Project problem noted, Contempt.

The Kingdoms aren't going to tolerate this much longer.

This varies from Kingdom to Kingdom, albeit war-weariness is growing...

Das, I only lost one civilian leadership, so it should be at Good, unless I'm wrong.

One of the reductions. The update would've taken even more time had I written them all down in the update itself as well...

I was under the impression 'present day china' refered to present day PRC.... Because that's why it's "present day china" and not pre ww1 China...

Didn't you notice that its 1913 right now in the real life? :p

I reduced the Federate one twice as well, I think.

The world was fire. At least, that's what a poor Muscovite soldier thought before the burning roof of the fort collapsed upon him. Artillery shells impacted against the fort like rain upon the ground, yet not nearly as clearly. Explosions and cries struck out into the night as the Scandinavian bombardment continued. Krupp artillery was felling the fort with nary a life lost as the ground soldiers watched the powerful artillery wrech havoc on the Muscovy fort.

Bang, bang.

It was a terrifying sight, to see all those artillery cannons light up in the night. To see that flash, and then hear that growing whistling sound as the artillery impacted all around the defending soldiers. Their world became fire, their existance became hell, underneath that Scandinavian barrage. They were scared, as all men are with the threat of death, underneath that hell.

Bang, bang.

Those soldiers were men, just as those Scandinavian guns were operated by men. By men who felt, by men who cried. It was sad, to see such men, equal in almost all measures, kill each other as the guns flashed, and the fires burned. But those Muscovites followed a mad Tsar, and vengence would be given out to all those that followed him, no matter who they were, or what they did. All the while, men prayed for it to stop, for protection from God. Protection that never came underneath the hell of the barrage.

Bang, bang.

The fort fell, and the Scandinavian army took over, crushing small resistance pockets left in the desolate fort. They surveyed the dead, tended to the wounded, captured prisoners to be shipped back to camps in the Swedish mainland and Finland. Yet, they found one thing on the wall, a small poem written in the barrage.

And when he gets to Heaven, To Saint Peter he will tell;
"One more soldier reporting Sir - I've spent my time in Hell."

The Italian Republic, having concluded peace with HRE and signed an alliance with Geneve, received the latter's assistance in crushing the various rebels. Despite the fierce resistance and the guerrila war, as well as the unpopularity of the idea of using Genevan troops (-1 Confidence), the rebels in the mainland are mostly routed. The ones in the islands frantically begun looking for a way to avoid the same fate: Elba and a few other offshore islands surrendered without a battle in exchange for amnesty, Corsica begun looking for Federate support and Sicily formed an organized government which begun preparing the island's defenses.

Do i get anymore of the land on the mainland penisula or not? :/

Response To FK's Open letter to Corsica

I would like the FK to clarify itself when it speaks of Tyranny and opression. The State aim, of Italy is to reunite itself. As such we view this as just. Could you provide your own view?

OOC: Punishment *ah well*

To Sicily
From Italy
We apologise, we wish to reuntite the Italian peoples. If a civil war is not resolved it will only lead to inevitable conflict in the future.

On China: The "present-day" China is the PRC of today, at least in my peace treaty

On Persia: Well, if you so wish to die, I can't stop you...

On Corsica: People want independance and protection when they are poorly governed. People of Corsica want protection. Thus they must have been poorly governed. If after Italy is unified they feel like joining you I will allow them to do so.

The Peace proposal to China stands the same as last turn. China loses Japan, Korea, Tibet, Mongolia, and all the lands west of present-day China. I do not know much about Siam-China historical borders, but the border there should be drawn based on ethnicity of people. And of course China immediately withdraws from the war.

In that case Sinkiang or East Turkestan should be seperate from China, having a great majority of Turkic Muslims and other ethnicities over the Han, who have willing supported Dalnorossia's actions against Qing Agression. (Also Stormbringer are you talking about Inner Mongolia as well?) leading to different borders from the PRC

Whispers in Mecca, Part One

“Salaam, Retina.”

“Good day, Cornea.”

“Choroid, here.”

“Where is Fovea?”

“Probably still working with Iris.”

“Fine, fine. We’ll conduct this now…the clerics won’t be so forgiving next time.”

“So they actually convinced the Federate investigators that we were burglars?”

“Er…well armed assassin-burglars, I think.”

“At least they have something else to worry about.”

“Oh sure, easy for you to say…you weren’t even part of that operation.”

“We act well independently, but better together. If any of us dies, this network could collapse. We’ve made too much progress in the last three months to mess it up now. The Federates may not realize the scope of anything yet, but this little “burglary” has put them on edge. Be more careful, idiots.”

“Yes. We aren’t moving to an overt stage for three weeks. And we’re already running low on arms and supplies. Unless we intensify our sabotage operations, we can’t expect to survive much longer.”

“Don’t worry. There’ll be fireworks soon enough. Mustafa has to mop up the last Bedouin rabble near Riyadh, and then he’ll support us.”

“Do you think? Even if he does, it’ll attract too much attention. And we have to finish the reports on the intelligence gathering operation for Pupil in three days.”

“Cornea, you’ll have to do it. I’ll hand over the documents that we acquired on the raid of the code-breakers office…you’ll find some very interesting information there.”

“Good. Military intelligence in Muscat will be pleased to hear that.”

“Eh…though those new apartments in Shiraz were…”

“Shame, that fire. And the resulting explosion. Killed hundreds of Federates, though. At least we got out the…“orphans.””

“Hmm, what’s that code for again?”

“You idiot. Look it up later. This is a professional organization now, not some smuggling outfit like we used to run.”

“Oh sure, it pays to be legitimate…but it’s hard work, too.”

“Choroid, how have the recruitment efforts been proceeding?”

“Our feelers into the upper classes and the intelligencia have been resisted. The former is still using the religious tension between Sunni and Shiite to support the FK, and the latter hopes to make up the new ruling class.”

“What of the Sharifs of Mecca? And the Wahhabites?”

“Half and half. Many were bribed, hence the problems when the FK pushed us out of the Hedjaz. The younger, smarter ones remain loyal, though. As we talked about earlier, our efforts have the traitors penned in Riyadh.”

“And the lower classes?”

“They hate the Federates. At least half of the bombings in the last week haven’t been ours. The local criminal gangs have joined in too…they know that they’ll lose a lot of business if the FK consolidates power.”

“Good. I’ll integrate twenty of the class-A agents into the network in the coming week. Choroid, work with Iris to form the more legitimate protest groups to distract FK attention elsewhere.”

“Done.”

“Fine. Continue your efforts with the underground, and report back at our other location, in three days.”

“God be with you, gentlemen. This is all going to intensify greatly in the coming month.”

“True…we’re all dead, unless we manage to execute the Hand of God.”

“That plan is in the works…several elements are still being developed in Teheran.”

“Fine, but we…Ah, damn! They’re beginning the call for evening prayers, but five minutes early.”

“Wait, what does that mean again?”

“Just run, you idiot.”

Several men slipped out the back door of a mosque into the crowded streets of Mecca. They rapidly melted into the crowd.
