MR. X is a member of the secret PENGUIN ASSOCIATION! KILL LORD IGGY!

Mr, X is in no means associated with penguins. He is actually associated with polar bears and their warm climate cousins the sheep.

Sucks what I cannot tell, if he were not married and with kids I would assume he was as gay as Panda... Then again those two are pretty close...:crazyeye:

 I COULDN'T HELP IT SHEEP, IT WAS TOO TEMPTING FORGIVE ME:cry:

To Iggy: Why don't you be more Islamic and Muslimish? I always figured that was the problem with the Ottomans, had no respect for their Arab brothers!!

Withdraw your invasion of Persia at once or we will be forced to intervene.

We have not invaded Persia.

What betrayal is this? You have invaded a soverign Muslim nation without cause, and we express our extreme displeasure at this. My son-in-law and his comrades have been terrorized, and many of them killed. I understand that you were not aware that Kalat and Persia were merged at the time, however your actions are intolerable nonetheless.

You have spilled Persian blood on soverign Persian soil, and I demand your response and agreement to withdraw in 24 hours, or it will be war.

I add that it will be war with the Federated Kingdoms and the Empire of France as well, so choose wisely.

Shah Ardashir IV of Persia

There is no betrayal. And the invasion was not without cause. I have spilled no Persian blood and certainely not anyone on Persian soil which Kalat is not.
We regret that this unfourtnate incident had to occur like this but we were unaware of the unificiation between Kalat and Persia.

Turkemistan as you know is a land locked nation and requires a port. That was the main reason for our invasion.
Perhaps Turkemistan and Persia could come to some sort of agreement regarding this?

As we said earlier, we were aware of the fact that you did not know the land that you were occupying was Persian land. As such however, the land you currently occupy is part of Persia. We do not believe that gaining access to a port is a legitimate reason for wiping a Muslim nation off the map, however.

The fact stands that the only claim you have to the territory of Kalat is one of strength of arms. The territory is legitimately ours by blood and marriage. Again, we require your immediate withdrawal, and a painful confrontation will be averted. If not, I fear that you will have to contend with war, and with three powers at that.

OOC:

True but I'm confused on which spots which, I mean which faction owns which part of Italy, Once I see that then I'll be able to guess what the other powers will do.

Re-read the spotlight, its all there. In the north, there are the Umbertoists, to the east from them there is a tiny Venetian-held territory, further south are the Carlists, and further south still is the Pope.

Das, I protest the non-trade center status of Paris. WHAT IS THIS?!?

The backwater of Samarqand or whatever-the-hell-cities which reside in Turkmenland are trade centers, yet Paris is not?!

That's economic center. And okay, its fixed now, I forgot to do it last time...

PM box cleaned.

We don't recognize you neither, in solidarity with Our French allies.

Turkemistan understands this. However if Persia wishes for a lasting peace then perhaps we could agree upon this:

-Turkemistan will withdraw from all Persian territory shown below without causing any harm to the area
-Turkemistan will retain the port of Gwdar
-In exchange Turkemistan will give up claim to any other Persian land
-Turkemistan will recognize the rest of Kalat as part of Persia

This will give us the port we so desire and we will provoke no further conflict with Persia, and it will ensure a lasting peace between our nations. Do you agree?
Feel free to make any suggestions or changes.

I'm glad we're in agreement. Shah Ardashir IV and the Islamic Council will briefly visit Kalat to ensure that no damage has been caused. Unfortunately the map you sent us was illegible. OOC: The picture is broken.

Thankfully war has been averted. Please disregard any earlier messages.

EDIT: Story coming within the hour.

Ardashir stood, and looked at Kalat. From atop a small hill near the main thoroughfare, he, General Mustafa, and their Kalatian guide could see the city of Kalat itself, in all it’s unimpressive entirety. If one had to describe Kalat in one word, it would be mud. The roads were muddy, the ground was muddy, and the people…well let’s just say that they weren’t as clean as a Frenchman.

And as for the city, it was constructed entirely of mud brick. The city was still surrounded by it’s feudal era, crumbling walls, and piles of refuse were dumped randomly by the wayside. What passed for a palace at the city center was a mud brick dome, painted an off white color. “Apparently these people have no concept of cleanliness,” Ardashir thought. “But nonetheless, they are my subjects, and it certainly is my duty to make the most of this land.”

Ardashir tried to recall what his guide had told him about what passed for industry in his new province. Fishing in the south, herding, and the black market for Federate goods in the “heartland” of the country, and finally poppy growing in the north. “Hmm, I’ll have to send General Mustafa to stamp that little trade out,” he mused. Turning to his military commander, he asked, “So what do you think of it?”

Mustafa, looking at his king with no expression, replied. “All I know is that I can squeeze at least 5 divisions out of this place.” Chuckling, he walked away. Ardashir faced his guide, a small elderly man with no hair at all. He had the look of one of those Buddhist monks from Federate India. “So what do you think of your nation? Our nation, that is…what is it like?” The man latched his gaze onto Ardashir’s face, his sad-looking eyes unblinking.

“It is certainly a beautiful land, sire. I have travelled from Peking to Constantinople, and have seen naught a finer place. But it is poor my king, almost too poor to survive. We have little livelihood here, and so many people turn to crime, or simply pack up and leave. Some people have said that your coming will be like the return of the Prophet himself, but others doubt that much will change. As the saying goes, New rulers, new governments, same old poverty.” Ardashir was surprised at the man’s honesty. Disheartened, he looked at the ground.

That disgusting, muddy ground.

That disgusting, muddy, incredibly rich and fertile looking ground!

“Oh guide,” Ardashir asked, “This land is perfect for farming. You people could make this place into a breadbasket for all of Islam! You are right, the land is beautiful, and it has potential. Why do your people not use it?”

“We have no money, remember my liege? There is no money to buy seeds, tools, or animals for the plows. If we had these things, perhaps this land could have hope again…but I do not see how that can happen.”

“Ah, my faithful guide, I believe that there I can be of service to the people of Kalat.”

And the guide smiled.

Dang it Thlayi, you had to end it so soon?

Sheep, if you think you'll get away with a rebellion in my territories, dream on.

I'm glad you like my stories! That was more of a short one to showcase my plans for Kalat.

I'll have to work on some more in the following nights. Midterms start at the end of next week though, so I'll probably only have time to do 2, 3 tops.
