NES2 VI - Last Semblance of Order.

Do you have AIM dis? :p

From the Grand Chancellor of Krakow:
To the World in an urgent matter:

This conflict that has started in the Balkans has the strenght, if not watched, to become the greatest war that we have written history to remember.

The Ottomans accepted a treaty of liberating the Balkans, and for such, it should not be that the Russians declare war on the Ottomans only becuase the Ottomans are backwards and do not have the capacity to withdraw in time, or even be aware of such treaty taking place.
This following year the Ottomans might be still control that area, but not because they want, but because they are literally unable to withdraw so fast.

Therefore, As representative of the nations that give me my power, i will declare neutrality.

But if it is that Russia decides to invade an Ottoman state that willingly gave independence to the Balkans, then we will react on the defense of the Ottoman empire.
We guarantee the independence of the states being created in the Balkans, they are well aware of that.

And so i ask nations to pledge to disarm this conflict, this bomb, before it detonates.

I ask to give the ottomans at least one more year (update) to withdraw, if they do not willingly do so, then Krakow will remain neutral.

But if the russians still wish to invade, then we will stand against them and their allies. We will not permit Russian imperialism in Europe!.

DIPLOMATIC MESSAGE FROM THE REPUBLIC OF VENICE

In light of recent events and for the protection and safety of the minorities of the areas adjacent to Venice, we announce to the world community that Venice has sent peacekeepers to a few of the Balkan areas closest to Venice

We are afraid that if we do not step in, chaos will ensue. This peacekeeping mission has been approved by the Spanish Government, the Russian Government, and the French Government, so we believe that the international community supports us in this endeavour.

We hope that peace will come to Balkans, and we are ready to protect it.

Chitia, Always Chita- Battles that Changed China by Davin Cenzies ( :mischief: )

Few if any Battles that took place in China can be recalled by European Military Commanders. But one stood above them all. Chita, Always Chita. Here, the fantasies of Europe was shattered on the blood stained tundra of Siberia. Chita. Always Chita. Here, the shadow of invincibility that Russia had earned advancing east was broken.

The two armies faced each other across an open plain filled with snow from a recent snowstorm. The Bear and the Dragon looked across the field to see the enemy and saw nothing but mortal men. The calm before the storm as the officers on both sides looked at the enemy with looking glass and saw the opposite side doing the same. The battlefield had an eerie silence suddenly broken by orders. “Forward March!”

The terrain was perfect for an European Style battle, open plains were all the eye could see surprisingly for Siberia. The two armies were positioned in nearly the same way with their infantry in the centre flanked with cavalry. But that was where the similarities ended. The two armies were as different as Europe and China. The Russian Infantry were dressed in their finery with sleek winter uniforms with the Cossacks riding upon fine chargers dressed in equally elaborate uniforms.

In direct opposite were the Chinese. Their infantry wore nothing but a mixture of clothing with a strip of white cloth tied around their heads. The Qing Cavalry was equally dressed armed with mostly bows and swords instead of pistols however they were made of nomads, Mongolians mostly loyal to the Emperor to the bone.

One thing of note was the different in cannons. The Russian cannon design had a slower rate of fire compared to the Chinese cannons. This was actually a mixture of varied cannons made in France, Spain or Portugal staffed with about even crews. The cannon shelling began even before the infantry moved against each other as they tested the opposite side’s cannon defense.

As the two infantry lines began marching towards each other, the cannons shifted their attention from the opposite cannons instead to the infantry. Here despite the Russian’s superior training with firearms, fancier uniforms and the like, it was no difference towards fate. The Chinese with a much larger infantry force could and were able to afford the losses while the Russians couldn’t.

The skirmishing between the two cavalry forces on both flanks came later as they fought in a classic struggle of West vs. East. In an ironic way as the ancestors of those same Mongolians had conquered Russia, the descendents of those Russians had come to enact a vengeance upon Mongolia. The bows proved more effective then the pistols of the Cossacks due to the recent snowstorm.

The Battle was indecisive in nature but showed one thing. The Armies of Qing China were no pushovers such as the armies of the Americas, Africa, or the Khanates of Central Asia. China was equal to Europe for now.

OOC: Okay, this is really a rant.... :(

so no War?

OOC: I hope you're not plotting to reconquer Central Asia as well as Chinese Turkestan in the name of Islam... ;)

No, no war.

I believe the Ottoman government, though it did not send an immediate dispatch to its forces in the Balkans, will quickly relay orders to withdraw and stand down.

Otherwise, we may see a few small skirmishes between confused men, but other than that, I don't see a war.

I was thinking that you'd get Turkish Persia and Shiite Iraq, and hand over any Sunni/Arab areas in Iraq to the Caliphate, victory permitting.
You must remember that Afghanistan, the nation I assentially am playing, is primarily Sunni. We'll talk more about this after the update.

OOC: I hope you're not plotting to reconquer Central Asia as well as Chinese Turkestan in the name of Islam...
OOC: Bah, who needs China!:p

OOC: Don't back down you pansies:mad:

TO: The Leaders of the Nations of Europe
FROM: His Royal Highness, King Julien-François I of the French

It has come to our attention that Europe teeters on the brink of war. Such news, though quite disturbing, is not necessarily suprising. Europe has existed in a state of unchecked tension for several years, and the imminent conflict would be a release of that tension, a release which could make or break several nations.

The Ottomans, with their lack of foresight and planning, have brought this upon themselves. They have agreed to treaties, and then they refuse to act, caught up in their own court intrigues. Perhaps the Sultan would do better to spend less time in his harems and more time running the state, to ensure that this would not happen.

The Ottoman Empire will disintegrate in the years to come, and to us it is of no consequence whether Russia invades such a backwards, defunct state. However, should any nation challange Russia in war, we shall gladly aid our ally, and the challanger will soon find themselves at war with the world's foremost power. We wish for peace, as any nation, yet at the same time we stand firm by our allies.

TO: The Kingdom of Brunswick
FROM: His Royal Highness, King Julien-François I of the French

We issue a garuntee of independence towards your nation should it come under attack from any foriegn powers, though relations have been strained in the past. France, as your nation undoubtebly, does not wish to see any incursions into Germany from outside powers, and we will not tolerate interference within Germany which threatens to harm both the Kingdom of Brunswick and its southern German counterpart, the Augsburg League.

While we support our European allies, I will not fight for a dead and defunct empire such as the Ottomans. The Ottomans are no ally of Venice and Venetian blood will not be spilt for dead men.

From Grand Chancellor of Krakow:
To King of France :

We read your rather humorous declaration and perhaps you are right. In the case of Russian invasion of the Ottoman Empire, we will not enter into conflict of any kind against russian blood in russian land. Nor any malicious activities at sea or as covert attacks on the russian homeland.

Hopefully spain (just like venice) will see this a a good choice.

But we remind them that expansionism in europe by russia will not be tolerated at all... the ottomans are jsut backwards, what crime did they commit?

From: Portugal
Regarding: Ottomans

The Ottoman Empire has most clearly stated at every single occurence that they were going to release several parts of their realm to freedom. We know that the Ottomans have no intentions to break this promise in any way.
However the Ottoman nation is clearly not a nation equal to the rest of europe. Corruption, rebellions and various other little problems can delay a planned operation often for months, if not years. If we now look at the grand scale of the promise, to free all Orthodox-majority areas, we must accept this and wait one year longer to rejoice to see our fellow Christian brothers freed.

If the Russian nation however took advantage of this unlucky situation to enlarge its own sphere of influence (disregarding if it is right to do so or not) Portugal would be greatly distrubted. Although no treaty binds us to support any side, the aggressivity of Russia and its complete incuriousity to prevent a war of global scale, would make the our choice most obvious.

P.S.: I wannebe interviewed, too!

From The Ottoman Empire
To Afghan

We find it rather rude to talk to foolish little rebels who have no support from the people. Please cease to do so.

To Europe

If Russia decides to attack the Ottoman Empire because of their own ridiculious demands then so be it, however this is the fault of Russia and Russia only. Russia has constantly sought to expand their borders through whatever means neccessary, this is just further proof of it. They can declare war but they will be attacking thin air, seeing as the Ottoman Empire will no longer defend the "orthodox" areas of it's empires. Consider the matter solved

ooc damn, maybe i shouldn't have sent orders after all  it won't be that bad if das doesn't accept, but please do anyway lol no seriously please!

Open Letter from the Russian Chancellor

"In regards to recent developments in the Balkhan theater the Government of Russia feels compelled to clarify the Russian position on the matter.

"The Russian Government most certainly does not wish for a war with the Ottoman Empire, but we are not afraid of it. If the Ottoman Empire goes back on its promise of releasing all Orthodox lands in its Empire then the Russian Government sees no other choice but to free these lands by force. These Christian lands have been occupied, and the people there oppressed, by the Ottomans for centuries, and we will not continue to stand by and allow oppression of our Slavic brothers to continue, regardless of what other powers may believe.

"Which brings be to the next point. The Russian Government will not be intimidated by threats from any other government. We continue with our policy of non-intervention in the affairs of countries that do not fall without our influence, but if any such country wishes to intervene in the clearly Russian sphere then it shall be met with most stern resistance, and force if needed be. We will not allow any nation to interfere in the policies of Russia."

OOC: Russia is a reactionary slavic backwater, always been, and always will be, but that does not mean that European powers can try and mess with the Bear's prey.
