Never Before Seen Civs - Elimination Game

Armenians were clipped off the last post. Next poster should add them back in. They're currently at 23 pts.

Additionally, I've used this opportunity to redefine that option. I've noticed that they've received several votes in lieu of the missing Georgians, so the missing entry should now read:

Armenians/Georgians 23

Armenians 23
Ashanti 22
Burmese 22
Cherokee 19
Goths 17
Italians 9
Hebrews 16
Hungarians 18
Mississippians 12
Mughals 4 - For the sake of having more diversity in India, the Mughals have less in common with the current civ than any body else deserving other than possibly the Chola.
Nubians 23
Palmyrenes/Nabateans 0 - Eliminated. For reasons previously mentioned.
Phoenicians 23
Swahili/Kilwa 22
Tibetans 22
Vietnamese 21
Zimbabweans 22

I've not added Georgia back because it hasn't affected anything and their different civs anyway so it makes no sense to include them under the same category. They can come back in a second round.

To late to save Palmyrenes:c5unhappy:

Armenians 23
Ashanti 22
Burmese 22
Cherokee 19
Goths 17
Italians 9
Hebrews 16
Hungarians 15 (18-3) I think Austria-Hungary would be better to feature them. Also just Hungary won't be bad, but I have to eliminate one of those.
Mississippians 12
Mughals 4
Nubians 23
Phoenicians 24 (23+1) One of the greatest ancient empires, unbelievable they never were in Civilisations
Swahili/Kilwa 22
Tibetans 22
Vietnamese 21
Zimbabweans 22

Armenians were supposed to be changed to 'Armenians/Georgians'.
Since the entire game besides the first post has had them as Armenians, it's probably best to keep them that way. Georgia can be saved for a possible round 2.

EDIT: Don't want to clutter the thread since it's supposed to be votes only anyways, but I checked it over and all votes for Armenia were intended for Armenia and not Georgia. Georgia was mentioned as a possible alternative for Armenia, but not as a principal cause for voting.

<shrug> if that's what you guys want. I figured that several of the comments for people voting for Armenia mentioned Georgia or Queen Tamar, so...

After the game ends, we can have a tally of suggestions for Round 2. Chalk one up for Georgia.

Just so nobody loses their place, the voting currently stands as follows:

Armenians 23
Ashanti 22
Burmese 22
Cherokee 19
Goths 17
Italians 9
Hebrews 16
Hungarians 15
Mississippians 12
Mughals 4
Nubians 23
Phoenicians 24
Swahili/Kilwa 22
Tibetans 22
Vietnamese 21
Zimbabweans 22

Ashanti 22
Burmese 22
Cherokee 19

Goths 14 (17-3)
Not a big fan of expanding Eurasian barbarians into the game. Mongols more than deserve to be here, Sycthia and Goths not so much.

Italians 9
Hebrews 16
Hungarians 15
Mississippians 12

Mughals 5 (4+1)
I remember when they teased Maria's background for BNW, a lot of people thought we were going to get Mughals. I wish we had. Very fun, interesting civ with the potential to put another look at India into the game rather than the standard recycled Gandhi stuff.

Nubians 23
Phoenicians 24
Swahili/Kilwa 22
Tibetans 22
Vietnamese 21
Zimbabweans 22

Armenians 23
Ashanti 22 +1 [23] (We need a west African civ.)
Burmese 22
Cherokee 19
Goths 14
Italians 9 - 3 [6] (Same thing as last time. Also, yeah, they are too similar to Rome aren't they?)
Hebrews 16
Hungarians 15
Mississippians 12
Mughals 5
Nubians 23
Phoenicians 24
Swahili/Kilwa 22
Tibetans 22
Vietnamese 21
Zimbabweans 22

Armenians 23
Ashanti 23 + 1 = 24 We need more civs from West Africa.
Burmese 22
Cherokee 19
Goths 14
Italians 6
Hebrews 16
Hungarians 15
Mississippians 12
Mughals 5 - 3 = 2 Nothing against them, but I think an alternative leader from India can represent them well.
Nubians 23
Phoenicians 24
Swahili/Kilwa 22
Tibetans 22
Vietnamese 21
Zimbabweans 22

Downvotes are going to be very difficult in this thread. I honestly can't say I'd be disappointed to see any of these civs added to the game.

Armenians 23
Ashanti 23
Burmese 22
Cherokee 19
Goths 14
Italians 6
Hebrews 16
Hungarians 15
Mississippians 13 (12+1) A dominant (for a time) civ in an underrepresented region, geographical and culturally distinct from past (and likely other future) pre-Columbian civs.
Mughals 5
Nubians 20 (23-3) I'd be happy to see more diversity of African civs, but given a limited number of slots, another sub Saharan civ would probably achieve this better than one so close to Egypt (and Ethiopia).
Phoenicians 24
Swahili/Kilwa 22
Tibetans 22
Vietnamese 21
Zimbabweans 22

Amrunril forgot Xandinho's votes, but I fixed it in this one.

Armenians 23
Ashanti 24
Burmese 22
Cherokee 19
Goths 14
Italians 6
Hebrews 16
Hungarians 15
Mississippians 14 (13 + 1) Just going to keep upvoting a lesser known and potentially very interesting civ to give it more exposure.
Mughals 0 (2 - 3) And another one gone!
Nubians 20
Phoenicians 24
Swahili/Kilwa 22
Tibetans 22
Vietnamese 21
Zimbabweans 22

Armenians 23
Ashanti 24
Burmese 22
Cherokee 19
Goths 14
Italians 6
Hebrews 16
Hungarians 12 (15 - 3) I think the others in the list are more interesting. Not that Hungary doesn't have a great history...
Mississippians 14
Nubians 21 (20+1) One of the most fascinating civs in history. Definitely deserving more attention.
Phoenicians 24
Swahili/Kilwa 22
Tibetans 22
Vietnamese 21
Zimbabweans 22

Armenians 23 + 1 = 24 Either them or Georgia (or why not both : it's not like it was impossible !) But Caucasus needs some representation : Armenia for ancient history, Georgia for medieval !
Ashanti 24
Burmese 22
Cherokee 19
Goths 14
Italians 6
Hebrews 16
Hungarians 12
Mississippians 14 - 3 = 11 they are simply too obscur for us ...
Nubians 21
Phoenicians 24
Swahili/Kilwa 22
Tibetans 22
Vietnamese 21
Zimbabweans 22

Phoenicians are an obvious civ that is missing from all Civ games.
I think the Cherokee are overrated compared to the rest of them.

Italians 6+1=7 It's a shame that Renaissance Italy has fallen so low while the barbarian Goths and Magyars are still present. Italy is not too similar to Rome in a game where we have had multiple civs speaking the same language, such as Babylon/Sumer and/or Assyria, Germany/Austria, and now Greece/Macedon/possibly Byzantium too. At least Italian and Latin are different languages.
Hebrews 16
Hungarians 12-3=9 As said above, they should at least go before Italy, as should the Goths as well.
Mississippians 11
Nubians 21
Phoenicians 25
Swahili/Kilwa 22
Tibetans 22

Honestly, I prefer Hungary to the Goths as the former was much more important to Europe than the latter.

A) You put them there :p, B) The Maygars began as barbarians but they went on to become a very powerful kingdom in the late middle ages, even briefly occupying Naples and much of southern Italy.
Spoiler Empire of Louis I of Hungary :

Armenians 25 (24 + 1) This region of Africa is currently untouched by Civ games, so this would be novel
Ashanti 24
Burmese 22
Cherokee 16
Goths 14
Italians 4 (7 - 3) Same reasons as I have posted previously
Hebrews 16
Hungarians 9
Mississippians 11

I've seen the Caucasus described as both Asia and Europe, but I've never seen it placed in Africa! :crazyeye:

Armenians 25
Ashanti 24
Burmese 22
Cherokee 16
Goths 14
Italians 4 - 3 = 1 -- I'd rather have an Italian city-state than an Italian blob civ.
Hebrews 16
Hungarians 9 + 1 = 10 -- Personally, I think Hungary would be much more interesting than Italy. There is no conceivable reason that a civilization with a rich culture and history should be lower on the list than a culture of horse barbarians, an archaeological culture, and a culture whose greatest achievement was assimilation followed by near-genocide.
Mississippians 11
Nubians 21
Phoenicians 25
Swahili/Kilwa 22
Tibetans 22
Vietnamese 21
Zimbabweans 22

Armenia is in Africa?
 I meant to vote Ashanti...
But seriously guys, quit acting stupid :p, obviously I don't think Armenia is in Africa, the two options were right next to each other and had the same number of points. Can we remove that point from Armenia and give it to the Ashanti?
