Never ever give up: 2. Deity level challenge

I haven't read this yet, just came from the link at the 1st try. Thanks for the writeups!
I'm wondering, have you played on Immortal before? What would you estimate is your chance of winning (standard settings) on that level? Would you consider it a sure win?

I agree, diplomacy (and luck surviving the early game) is the most important thing at deity, this becomes even more true in warlords. The best way to fight against the AI production advantages is to turn them against each other.

On emperor yes.

But Immortal isn´t that much different to deity. Main advantage over deity is that the AI doesn´t get that much bonuses at the beginning (deity is 2 settlers, 2 workers, 4 archers, 2 scouts...)

With a random start and civ I would consider the chances of winning on immortal a little better then even but I don´t play that often on immortal so I cant say for sure (I switch between emperor and deity, but play mainly emperor because emperor is most fun and it allows you to experiment with strategy a little and still stay competitive)

I dissagree. Immortal is.... buffed up emperor. Deity is much different than immortal.

@ acidsatyr:

I have only played 5 or 6 games on immortal (I either play emperor or deity) but the main difference I noticed from immortal to deity are in the beginning because of the additional settler the AI´s get on deity
