New Beta Patch - April 7th (4-7)

Install 3-15-2. Then I copied dll for 4-7(9) and 4-10. On Github you can find 4-12 which can be directly copied (probably) on top of 3-15-2.
 
I just played a game with the 4-10 build, it seems good! My only gripe has nothing to do with those changes, it's city-strength being too low when unfortified.

England ambushed me when I moved my army and navy to attack Germany (in like 2 turns lol) and took good advantage of both a tech advantage and their UU! That said, I wasn't expecting to loose my second largest city in literally 1 turn. I had fortification in it and I thought they should give me at least a few turns to move some of my army back home to garrison and defend. No such luck lol. Meanwhile my most recent city (with only walls) is still standing because I have a single crossbowman in it. I am a bit surprised to say the least. Should an unfortified city with a castle not be stronger than a city with walls and a weak defending unit?

Regardless, this game had two clear leaders: China who combined the strengths of their UB and UA with a lapiz lazuli monpoly. They hopped from wonder to wonder, taking an early lean and maintaining it - capturing cities belonging to both Egypt and Persia. Wu Zietan's army is double the size of most other nations XD. The second being Korea, mainly because they were the only founder on their continent! 6 founders on my continent lol and I still managed to convert Sweden and England to my religion which I am proud of. That said, Korea only gets stronger over time so there two are both forces to be reckonned with. Predictably Austria who had a lot of space to themselves started quiety but become a significant force over time thanks to their UA. Egypt started strong but I think their glory days are coming to an end. Btw my income is negative because I traded Korea 124 gpt for the tech Chemisty, because I could. The next turn he kindly gifted me 1200 gold! Thanks pal.

I was able to move up the ranks slowly, razing one of Germany's cities to give my friend Persia a bit of breathing space. I was planning to liberate a Persian city from Germany next, but England did well for a civ in last place and took advantage of my forces being out of town! You can see both cities that I lost and while I can easily recapture one of them it will have lost a lot of population and buildings by the time the war is over which hurts. I don't expect to keep either of those island cities! I guess one thing I am grateful for in this context is coastal cities getting supply from lighthouse and harbour.
 
@JamesNinelives never lose hope until the end. I have seen dramatic victories. Once I was trailing in global score hopeless to Montezuma who had 3600 score to my 1600 or so, yet I won the game.

And just recently I scored a surprising diplomatic victory in a game I was losing to Poland.

Anything can happen, just stay focused

With that being said, I scored a defeat too with Greece recently. I resisted until 1970 never gave up although was bottom of score list. At the end resigned bitterly was overwhelmed by military.
 
Don't you think that units in cities provide to much strength comparing to not defended? They are so hard to kill inside... Sometimes I barely touch them with my catapults or trebuchets.

Just saw that myself. It's not savegame compatible as it includes a memory/performance fix I added for AI targeting. I could open a new thread...

I think a new version, especially not savegame compatible, and with (seemingly) complicated instructions to install, should have it's own thread. It would certainly help me out. Or, at least, very easy instructions here on how to install.

Seriously, I could believe it worked that way with so many patches. Gazebo is missing and everything became much more complicated :P No offense. Why don't you do exe file like before?

I don't have the software used to create the installers, and even if I did, I'd rather not create additional confusion by throwing out new versions with it. He's just busy, not MIA.
 
I've seen (but forgot to mention) an issue for several versions that I don't know if intended or not.
I have captured enemy cities with other religion which includes purchase of university etc for faith but the option isnt there.

Do I have to have it as a majority religion to use that reform feature?

Reformation beliefs are only for the founder/Holy City conqueror.
 
Ok, so if I had conquered the holy city I would have been able to purchase those despite it being a minority religion.

Oh, I misunderstood. Has to be the majority religion in the city, yes. Thought you meant at the player level.

The other mod I'm using is the 3rd and 4th unique components and it seems to happen randomly. I can reproduce it on the first turn if i start a new game but sometimes it takes a few turns. I followed the beta patch instructions properly as well.

i had this problem before in previous version of this mod. i have a problem now. on turn 214 the game crashes on me. playing as Babylon tradition marathon huge map. if i click next turn it crashes on me. going back to the previous version.

It's happened to me on a previous beta.

Do you think its safe to continue playing even tho if I click my portrait I crash or is the whole save gonna be messed up? If its just that one thing I could work around it I guess, but I dont know if CTD bugs corrupt everything eventually or they can be very specific?
