I didn't go through whole thread, but many people think / hope it is an expansion (or anything of similar importance), and from tweet / video I do not see anything supporting that.

If anything, it seems like a hall of fame to me.

I think it's more a question of why would they bother to tease something minor like the HoF with a small video clip and a cryptic message a whole week in advance?

Mostly, that it is was teased in advance, and that the tease is a cinematic that we have not seen before. Plus, Ed Beach gave a bunch of interviews this month hinting at an expansion.

6 new civs I think little, if we are going to an expansion, I hope that the developers keep the rite of 9 civilizations as were the expansions of civ5, although I would like us to get more than 9

Of course, one has to be cautiously optimistic regarding these things. But I wonder what the effect will be if it ends up not satisfying people's expectations. Would they play with that? I would not think so. This makes me wonder if it indeed is an expansion or something considerably "big". I guess the waiting period could be thrilling for some people or for some others just the idea to get anything new in the game. However, for us Mac/Linux users who have to wait longer and longer periods to get the updates (almost six weeks and counting), waiting is not so much fun anymore.

This time, thankfully, it only is about 32 more minutes. We shall see after that.

If it is an expansion, I do hope we get just a little actual, substantive info. It will be sooooo disappointing if they don't allude to at least one new civ. But it is 2K, so yeah, here's to waiting for those First Look videos months from now.

I think that only the people here at CivFanatics will get super hyped about it (others might not even remember the announcement the next day...) and people here will probably buy everything anyways.

That said, I do personally think that it is an expansion announcement, as indeed DLCs haven't gotten trailers before.
