New FFH Wiki

If any of the major modders out there would be so kind as to put info on the xml tags for the various files it would be very much appreciated.

I typed up the list of buildings, spells, and promotions (a-d). Added Adventurer's Guild and Demonic Citizens page.

I have little else to do today, so I'll finish up the promotion list.

we now have over 300 articles in the wiki now and a lot of different people have been contributing so that is really great. i am just about done with all of the articles for the melee units. i will probably just keep working down the list and then see what needs done.

Well if you feel like doing raw grunt work there is PLENTY to be done in the Moding section :p I've got some decent templates going, and if you find/replace in the Schema creatively it doesn't actually take too long. Just tiring work with no actual output. I commend you for doing as much as you have so far :) I think my personal attention span would have waned quite some time ago.

well i figured i would be on my own for a while since nobody would want to help at first since they wouldnt know if this was going to be a real thing or fizz away. so i dont mind doing some of the boring work but now it seems that it is picking up. praxtis and xienwolf have been helping a lot and if even more people came and helped out it would become even better. if you dont have much wiki experience that is fine. most of it you can just copy and paste from another page and just replace with new info. its pretty easy to pick up.

Disciple Units are all in. That brings me at about 37% done with all of the units. I am hoping to be all done by the end of the week.

praxtis has done a good job of getting a lot of the promotions are a couple spells in to.

EDIT:

Beast Units and Arcane Units are now all in as well. If anybody has the button pics for the new v0.32 heroes that would be helpful.

Update:

I changed the pic on the main page and reformatted the categories. Let me know if you guys like this one or the old one better.

I got a lot more unit pages in and i know ill be done by end of the week with all the units.

MUCH better. I'd still like the sidebar to be something FfH themed, but at least it's better than the default was. Also wouldn't mind a revision to the "Edit this page, History..." tabs. I've seen them done exactly like Wiki (small tabs) and rather like that. Wasn't able to figure out how to do so on my last jaunt through updating things though.

IT'S DONE! All units are now in! that took a while. im going to start working on wonders next. Magister added a lot of cool stuff about the individual gods from the Lore Forums that is worth checking out too.

Awesome! I'm glad you are doing this project. I can't stand the font on the otherwise great phaeser wiki, so this is a welcome replacement for the old wiki.

So, I felt like doing repetitive tasks tonight, but not any actual processing of Information. I figured out a handy method for placing the basic outline of a page onto the Wikia without losing the quick-access fact of which pages need updates. I just add them to [[Category:Blank]].

I wasn't able to complete all of the fields in UnitInfos, and haven't touched the rest of the Units Folder (which I have placed all the fields in as links to blank pages). So if anyone else wants to contribute, but knows nothing about code... Feel free to copy one of the Blank UnitInfos pages and paste it into the rest of the CIV4UnitInfos pages which show as empty still.

And does anyone know of a way to automate such a thing? Like tell Wikia to paste XXX information into all pages linked from a single other page? Seems like such automation ought to be possible, but I sure haven't managed to figure it out yet. Would make the tedium portion of setting the thing up quicker.

And a final note: Reading the SeeInvisible field could prove worthwhile for people who are modding units ;) It contains some information which many people aren't QUITE aware of.

yeah i think i may actually just make one page per genre of article, like building, traits, spells... that way people can just copy and paste and edit the different fields. that would make creating new articles easier for people who want to help but arent very experience with wikis

Yeah, I've been going through lately and posting just a generic template for the UnitInfo fields so that they have the cute little side-bar table. That way I have less copy/paste work in the future when I am setting up each new page. And the recent host of deletion pages was from realizing I need to be more careful with how I name my target pages to avoid overlaps :)
