New Gameplays (ONE THREAD)

Music will expand with the game/eras.

Each civ has a unique music track(s) (not sure if its plural), if you meet a civ, their music will be randomly played as you play (outside of leader screen)

Kinda annoying and immersive breaking so I hope it's a glitch/bug.

How do you know this? I haven't noticed anything like that.

Listen to Polygon's video.

Not sure which video, but I know in one instance they had France's theme playing in the background and then as they dealt with Cathereine the same piece as played again during her diplomacy screen, once they exited, the same song continued to play.

Drew from BAStart gaming is a fun guy to watch but he must have misstated about 5 things in his first 40 minutes.

That must be a glitch or a bug because in other videos, the diplomacy music changes into a map music - if this is the right way to name it.

Well, I know Ed or someone mentioned that music is influenced by other leaders as well when you interact with them.

But I don't want to hear Egyptian motifs as America. It is immersive breaking.

What immersion is to be gained by hearing 18th century American music in an Ancient tribal America to begin with? You have an extremely picky palate.

Quick perusal of some of the vids. Wow! These guys are popular on you tube? These folks were Firaxes picks to spend money on? Most would have been better off just playing or attempting to play instead of yapping away.

Rare that I would complain, but most of these vids are unwatchable with the sound on. I am shocked.

.........

First of all, no.

Second of all, music starts of as very simplistic, with few instruements and notes, as time goes on in the game, the motifs increase and instruments and notes increase. It's layered.

I really like the new support units. They don't have combat strength but when linked to a melee unit, grant the melee unit a strong anti-city bonus. The siege tower allows the melee unit to bypass walls and damage the city directly. The battering ram allows the melee unit to do a full attack against city walls. This means that you can attack cities with these support units before you get catapults. I also find it an elegant solution to 1upt. Instead of awkwardly trying to position catapults to weaken a city before taking it, you can now group a battering ram with a melee unit and attack the city straight on.

You can see the support units in action here:

I'm not watching all of that. In which ones does Catherine or Cleopatra appear?

Cleo shows up several times in Quill's, the only one I watched in full. Catherine shows up in the livestream, briefly.

I checked Polygon video, and the same track continues playing after he exits diplomacy screen. The music changes in the diplomacy screen as always, then comes back to normal. And I have seen this on the first video ever released with Teddy, too.

However, rumours can trigger diplomacy music of a civ? And maybe some other factors in the game may trigger dipomacy music of other civilizations? This may be still true. I don't know.
