New Mafia Hosting Queue

It just comes with the K.

"Tak" also ends in a K, as does "Arak". :)

but yer usernames dun end in k. :p

Then just host a small game with 16 townies and 4 mafia. :p

That would be horribly imbalanced towards the Mafia, 2-3 Mafiosos depending on the amount of power roles. At least I THINK that is balanced.

Also, I am updating the queue now. If there are any errors, please notify me as I have not updated the queue in quite some time so I might miss something. Thanks. :)

Queue updated. I removed BestRFC's game from the queue as he hasn't ventured into a Mafia game for ages and I bumped Classical's game to the bottom of the queue.

@Araknor: Would you prefer a small game spot? Because right now I have got you in the large game queue.

Vanilla game with 18 townies and 2 mafia...
well, that can be interesting AND time-consuming.
Look at vanilla games of ATPG, with 2-3 mafia and 1 SK...

But ATPG has about ~30-35 people in his games with that much scum. 2 is good for pure Vanilla games, 3 is what you would use when you have power roles. 4 is overpowered unless you have multiple teams, or the town is REALLY powerful.

Some good guidelines:

If one mafia team exists, about 1 of them per 5-6ish townies is good for small games.
If two, up the ratio to about 1 to 4-5, as they're split in half.
In the really big games with lots of cool roles, several neutral teams, and mafia and SK's and stuff... well, that's the sort of thing you have to figure out on your own. There's no good rule of thumb for that.

I believe it is good when town have some power roles. In full vanilla, I would go with 1 mafia per 7-9 townies (like 2 mafia in 18 player game)

It is good idea to start with some kind of mini. Mini can be really fun, and are not so time-consuming. Also, before you host your first game, you do not really know what you will need... at least, that was true in my case.
My first game was small one, with some power roles and some additional mechanics. It also included cult. I was almost overwhelmed by it.
If you want to start with small rather with mini, I will advice you to start with vanilla, or near-vanilla. Because during first game, you will 'build' your methodology of hosting: how I would track votes? How I would manage night actions, esp. when there is more of them and they interact with each-other? How much I want to reveal in write-ups? And one of most important IMO - how I would react to players trying to get additional info

Keep me in the large game queue for now if you please, but I do have some ideas for a small game. I'll talk with my Scottinian conspirator and see where we go from there. :)

Check the Zack Mafia IV thread first!

Large Game: Replace my "Untitled" slot with this.

Stop changing the names of your games, you psycho!

Not Stairway to Heaven II: Zack Mafia V: The Reaping or something like that?

I considered naming it something like Stairway to Heaven II: The Fifth Zack Mafia, but that was too hokey even for me. :p Everyone knows that a title grows exponentially worse for every subtitle, excluding the first, that you add. I point to Figure 1A.

That title forgot to include 'Expansion pack'. :D

As soon as Smurf Mafia has 1/3 people left, I'm ready to host Smilie Mafia; That is, if SouthernKing isn't hosting his game.
