The green is the Byzantines who have only reconquered Egypt in fairly recent times, Thats a former crusader kingdom in Palestine that acted as a French puppet until the revolution, the Central Asian country is a remnant of the Timurids. I realize this will only create more questions, but here is a player list, by no means final (South America will probably be decolonized in the final version for 1 thing)

Kingdom of Great Britain
Kingdom of Denmark-Norway
Kingdom of Sweden
French Republic
Republic of Novgorod
The United Netherlands
Kingdom of Spain
Kingdom of Portugal
German Union
Northern Italian Republic
Venetian Republic
Papal States
Swiss Confederation
Kingdom of Naples
Commonwealth of Poland-Hungary
Kingdom of Lithuania (Poland-Hungary vassal)
Grand Duchy of Austria
Kingdom of Serbia
Kingdom of Wallachia-Moldavia
Kingdom of Bulgaria
Eastern Roman Empire (Byzantine Empire)

Sultanate of Morocco

Bey of Tripoli
Zulu Empire
Kingdom of Jerusalem
Arab (Saudi?, Wahabi?, Hashemite?) Caliphate

Do you have a timeline good sir?

I have an idea but not drawn out, and it definatly has some holes. The goal was to make an interesting situation rather then one that would be most accurate anyways.

Well, as long as you have nation backgrounds of some capacity, I'm good.

There is. I even have a web of dynastic marriages drawn out some what.

What's the nation background on the UAS? I am interested in them, if we can have nation descriptions. I also sort of like the American Confederation.

If people claim nations right now, I don't have a problem with it, but I can't even guarentee some of them will still exist when this starts (espeically smaller ones).

The UAS and American Confederation are essentiall the US North and the US South who chose to split instead of unite after independance. The North does have a higher Dutch and Swedish minority then OOTL though.

Incase your curious on the other 2 american nations, Lousiana is kind of a French Taiwan. The French monarchy fled there after the revolution so it generally has bad relations with actual France, though its supported by Spain.

The Republic of California (Name subject to change), is a real mixed bag and exists due to the rich mining companies in the area playing off several competing powers against one another. It has a slight majority of whites from the American Union with large numbers of former Japanese colonists and Mexicans as well.

What are the general alliance systems, or loose agreements, in this world? Who have the UAS and the Confederation been cozying up to?

Claiming Grand Duchy of Austria!

I'll take Kingdom of Great Britain, although I might switch when the stats are posted.

Sp, no offense to you, but I'd prefer if someone with a bit more experiance took GB. If it's not taken by the 1st turn in the NES you can have it though.

That being said, these are the seven super powers which I think a considerable amount of playing time (3 monthes and 1 long NES atleast) is needed for.

Great Britain
Byzantine Empire
France
German Union
Polish-Hungarian Commonwealth
Empire of Japan
Timurid Empire

This still leaves a good dozen or so moderate powers that anyone can choose from, and if you want a challange some weak ones too.

As for the alliance system, its not entirely figured out yet. Whatever I decide on, it will be logical but leave lot of room for maneuvering however.

Well, I have played foir around 3 months, and I have participated in Carmen's old NES, as well as Luck NES, Abnes, and Nuke NES.

Maybe I'll take France then.

sp1023, belive me, it's too difficult for you to take major nations...In DANES, I toke Great Britain and I lead it to the distruction, and I had at least 3 or 4 months of NES experiences...

I'll make you a deal, send me a couple of sets of old orders Sp. I think they're good enough, you can have it.

You weren't doing that badly, I think, but you could definitely have used a bit more experience, yes.

Put me down for extreme interest in the Kingdom of Sweden, please.

I agree that even time != experience. Actually playing and learning does. Look at people like Perfectionist and Littleboots. They popped right in and challenged the big boys. It took me a lot of time to get to even the state I am currently, mostly failures and learning from other people.

@Dachs: Vut do you vant!?
