This is peanuts. :p

It's possible that it was suicide, actually. Sort of. He was reportedly planning on being reborn as an infinitely superior metaphysical being beyond all human comprehension and limitation.
You are having wayyy too much fun with this.

What sort of political parties exist within the Egyptian Senate? Do we only have one house of representation, or two?

The senate is bicameral. The party system is... ill-defined at best; traditionally there are the monarchists who seek to increase royal power and those who currently oppose them; a large part of the Senate can swing either way, though.

And also, do our elites speak a Norman version of French, or what? How egalitarian is Egyptian society?

The current "Aegyptian" language has evolved from a combination of the Norman dialect, Latin and Coptic, with generous helpings of Greek and Arabic. The elite, however, speaks Latin, or so is the tradition (ofcourse, nowadays it is bilingual, but supposed to known both Latin and Literature Aegyptian).

-What exactly were the circumstances surrounding the aforementioned coup d'etat? The one a few decades ago.

Hmm? A failed military takeover, of a sorts; a conspiracy involving the commander of the Fulda garrison, some of his fellow officers and the more radical and opportunistic Arbeitist circles; they were planning something like a more radical version of the OTL February Revolution, but failed to secure the support of most other generals or the Reichstag. There still was an armed popular uprising in Fulda itself; it and the garrison's attempted treason had to be put down by force, leading to some brutal, bloody and well-documented fighting in the streets that helped put the contemporary Imperial government's prestige in the gutter.

-Following the suppression of the Bohemian revolt, what exactly is the situation vis-a-vis Czech national rights? Are they appropriately downtrodden and exploited?

Czechs? What Czechs? You surely mean "Upper Elbe Germans". :p In other words, see modern Kurds in Turkey. Ofcourse, the majority population in Prague is German or so Germanised as to be largely unaffected by the national revival; some of them tried to reclaim their Slavness during the uprising and became subject of amusing stories written by this world's distant equivalent of Hašek.

-If the Reichstag is elected via the device of universal manhood suffrage from the entire Empire (save the colonies?) what function do the Kreise fill?

They evolved over time, and became something more like military/higher-level administrative districts.

-Is there any von Tirpitzian or even Gorshkovian figure, a German Naval League, anything like that? Or has the fleet managed to stay unpoliticized so far?

No, the fleet has never been important/"The Reich has two allies: the German army and the Flemish fleet" (though there is a German fleet as well; it's just not much to speak of).

-In our eastern territories, what's the ethnic distribution? Who lives where, and how many of 'em?

Other than Bohemia and maybe Posen, all those areas have majority German populations; Livs and Estonians are still a significant presence in Ostland, as are "Eastern Danes", whereas the Posen area, eastern Pomerania and especially Prussia have large Polish populations.

-Any noticeable linguistic differences in German compared to OTL? What's the distribution of the dialects (if there are any), and what are they like?

Well, ofcourse there are major differences (or, rather, lots and lots of minor differences) and there fairly noteworthy local accents; without going into too much detail, let's say that Bavarian is much less the odd one out, unlike "Pomeranian" (Pomerania in the broader sense includes OTL Brandenburg and nearby areas in this case).

-Philosophically...well, uh, where are we? What happened?

See my answer to Thlayli. :p

I have some basic cultural ideas here and there, but it's pretty incoherent as of now, and the specifics are probably best left to the players anyway; but the overall theme would be much stronger continuity with High Medieval civilisation in its various aspects (despite a genuine, undeniable and significant evolution since then), plus closer and earlier contacts with India and traditions thereof. There exists a great emphasis on social order in European thought, but just what it is and how it is to be achieved is argued a lot, with aristocratic traditionalists on one end, middle class pragmatic reformists on another and radical reformist-to-utopian revolutionary Arbeitists on the third end, if you want a Hearts of Iron-style triangle of political practice and philosophy.

You are having wayyy too much fun with this.

What's monarchy without amusing over-the-top scandals? :p

What is the status of abolition around the world?

Mostly done in name except some places where slavery was never a huge factor in the first place. In reality some colonies have been using slavery-in-all-but-in-name, and in some cases reliance on slave labour is increasing rather than decreasing.

Is there any regionalism within Arcadia akin to OTL states rights in the United States?

Nothing remotely comparable to that, in Arcadia Proper. The greatest source of regionalism would be the British Isles by far.

Are the domestic affairs of the British Isles and Arcadia proper completely divorced from one another in governance?

Nearly so, but most domestic governance tends to be devolved to local authorities in the first place; the supreme authority in the British Isles is the royally-appointed governor-general who reins akin to the monarch himself, though is kept under control, in parts due to fairly regular rotation.

Are the instruments of government generally the same as their OTL British equivalents?

Similar in general, but the Parliament is so much weaker and less developed; it's probably similar to the 1760s parliament in most regards.

What are the major Arcadian political parties?

Re: Arcadian party system: see Egypt, but more divided, less stable and more confusing and chaotic. There are some "Imperial-style" political parties now, but most of them are bickering variations on parliamentary liberalism and are predicted to be likely to fall apart and recombine several times over the next two decades, while the York party (devoted monarchists with an occasional pragmatic streak and the most stable party, though it is not very large and could usually be outnumbered by a liberal coalition if such a thing was physically possible) looks on and laughs.

What about New Albion? What political organization does the corrupt republic have?

The Assembly of the Republic and the President thereof. Real power belongs to various urban bosses and vested interests, though.

When did the Anglican-Catholic split happen? Was it before or after the sharding of the British Empire?

Already answered. Just after/during/it was a part of the process.

How prevalent and autonomous are Amerindian populations outside of Oklahoma?

Not very and usually rather yes.

How does the Japanese population compare to the native and Arcadian/English/whatever populations in the Japanese colonies?

In the coastal cities it is probably more or less a majority. The English remain in some coastal areas. The inlands are largely populated by natives and English metis groups; the latter are increasingly numerous. Note that the population as such is still largely concentrated in coastal areas and the cities specifically, and though no proper census has been conducted despite some attempts, the Japanese probably still have a (uncomfortable) majority for now.

-What's the alleged independence movement in Orinoko's main goals and support? Any chance of mollifying them with secondary colonial administration reforms or something like that if need be?
-How come Westafrika hates me more than Orinoko does?
-What happened to the Hansa in TTL, if it existed at all?
-What the deuce is the Reich legal system like? Some kind of unholy uncodified mishmash of contradictory imperial diktats and decrees, Reichstag statutes, court rulings, canon law, and God only knows what else?
-Does the Reichsgeneralstab have an attendant Reichskriegsakademie or other staff college, or is it significantly less organized?

Have you tried to speak bairisch? It's nutty. :wallbash: I hate my countrymen. :p

QUESTIONS from the player of the Flemish Union!

1. Is Brazil one of those places where slavery is increasing in use?
2. Are there any ties to random African/Indian countries I should be aware of? Especially Bengal?
3. How well recovered is Flanders from the French occupation in the Fifty Year's War? (it was a long time ago, but you never know)
4. What are the major political parties/movements in the Parliament?
5. How much power does the Executive Treasurer really wield?
6. How is colonial administration generally handled, and how does it vary between Brazil/Africa/India/East Asia?

Sorry if these are cruddy or overly vague questions that waste your time!

Bengal ~

1. Why did it fail at being awesome?
2. Where is it currently in the tech world?
3. How significant trade going through other ports round and about?

While we're asking questions:

Is there a head of state of Adana? If so, how is he selected. If not, how is the clerical council selected? Also, what are the major coalitions in the parliament?

-What's the alleged independence movement in Orinoko's main goals and support? Any chance of mollifying them with secondary colonial administration reforms or something like that if need be?

They mostly wish for greater autonomy, so yes.

-How come Westafrika hates me more than Orinoko does?

How come indeed? Not that either hate you all that much, but the former should be much more loyal than the latter.

-What happened to the Hansa in TTL, if it existed at all?

Existed, though never was quite as important as in OTL; then gradually declined and was finished off by the Danes who first ruined it with tariffs and confiscations, then tried to conquer it militarily, with some limited success.

-What the deuce is the Reich legal system like? Some kind of unholy uncodified mishmash of contradictory imperial diktats and decrees, Reichstag statutes, court rulings, canon law, and God only knows what else?

Tempted though I am to say that, but sadly it got standardised, codified and unified under the influence of the latest legal philosophies during the early-to-middle 18th century. Codex Maximilianeus was subsequently imitated in many other Central European countries and is considered one of the main aspects of Pax Germanica.

-Does the Reichsgeneralstab have an attendant Reichskriegsakademie or other staff college, or is it significantly less organized?

No, that does exist. It's not in its best state.

1. Is Brazil one of those places where slavery is increasing in use?

No, that's mostly an African thing, what with the recent inland expansion and all.

2. Are there any ties to random African/Indian countries I should be aware of? Especially Bengal?

I think there were some contacts with Bengal, yes; Flemish advisers helping with modernisation and military reforms and all. Not as much now, but there are some residual commercial connections.

3. How well recovered is Flanders from the French occupation in the Fifty Year's War? (it was a long time ago, but you never know)

I'd say pretty damn well, priceless art treasures aside.

4. What are the major political parties/movements in the Parliament?

This too has coalesced relatively recently into actual political parties in the modern sense Unionists (national-liberals) have traditionally been predominant, with Provincialists (conservative regionalist autonomists) as the usual opposition. Recently the political, moderate local Arbeitist movement has become a powerful third force, threatening to overtake both of the other parties taken together in a few more years. It's not without its own divisions, mind you, whereas the rift between Provincialists and Unionists is not as wide as one might think.

5. How much power does the Executive Treasurer really wield?

As much as he can get away with. :p For more details, I think I'll defer this to Thlayli; the title was his idea.

6. How is colonial administration generally handled, and how does it vary between Brazil/Africa/India/East Asia?

Brasil and the older port cities in Africa typically have local, and, in Brasil's case, overall colonial administration along democratic lines; they are pretty autonomous in domestic matters except whenever the Flemish government decides to actively meddle, which hasn't been all that often, hence the ill-defined status of their relationship. Control over most other colonies tends to be tighter and more authoritarian in nature, though again, some minor kingdoms, tribes and principalities in Africa and the Indian Ocean alike can enjoy wide autonomy in domestic affairs under their native rulers, while providing colonial troops and being dominated economically.

1. Why did it fail at being awesome?

What do you mean it's not awesome? :p

2. Where is it currently in the tech world?

Lagging behind, but not by too much; slightly behind Italy or Serbia, but probably somewhat ahead of Japan as it is now.

3. How significant trade going through other ports round and about?

Er? Sorry, not at all sure what are you asking about here. Please rephrase.

Is there a head of state of Adana? If so, how is he selected. If not, how is the clerical council selected? Also, what are the major coalitions in the parliament?

It is, at least in theory, governed as a democratic Ummah; a Muslim religious community coupled with Ancient Greek and modern European ideas of a republic. The civil and military head of state is the emir, used in the original sense of "commander"; greater power belongs to the semi-democratically (all candidates are members of well-educated high clergy; all citizens vote, but the citizenship is obviously limited to adult male Muslims who have not been disenfranchised for any transgressions and have either been born in Adana or have been granted citizenship collectively or as an individual honour for specific achievements) elected council of sheikhs, which appoints the emir to defend and represent the Republic in the temporal world, and to deal with various matters of civil governance; obviously, they advise him and they can remove him.

Here are some questions about the Golden Horde I hope you don't mind answering...

1. Why is our capital at Omsk out of all places? Wasn't it founded as a Russian fort?
2. Of what origin is our ruling dynasty? Do they claim to be descended from Genghis Khan?
3. I'm aware that the specific tribes have quite a bit of autonomy, with the Uighars seemingly having the most. Are there any other tribes that have a lot of autonomy and in what areas exactly does the Khan (presumed title) have control over their affairs?
4. Do we have any sort of legislature of significance? If so is it democratic at all?
5. I would guess we are a hodgepodge of all sorts of religions but assuming Islam is the majority, is it more favored in the government? How many Christians reside in the country? Actually, how large a role does religion play in everyday life in the Horde anyways?
6. I'm aware most of our industrialization is in the Western third of the country but does that mean the natural resources in other areas have yet to be tapped into? Also, how is our rail development?
7. How are our relations with Chernigov? What about with Iran and the Qing?
8. How Russified is our culture?

1. Why is our capital at Omsk our of all places?

Hmm? It's not at Omsk at all; it's the Sarai on the Yaik, an ATL city located pretty far away from OTL Omsk, which indeed does not exist.

2. Of what origin is our ruling dynasty? Do they claim to be descended from Genghis Khan?

Northern Turkic, but yes.

3. I'm aware that the specific tribes have quite a bit of autonomy, with the Uighars seemingly having the most. Are there any other tribes that have a lot of autonomy and in what areas exactly does the Khan (presumed title) have control over their affairs?

In theory the Khan's authority is absolute and the tribes, which are the primary social and arguably political units of the Horde, have as much autonomy as he is going to allow them. In practice there is not much of a non-tribal bureaucracy, control is difficult to carry out and so there is a great deal of de facto tribal and sometimes local urban autonomy. The Uighur Khanate is a mostly independent state in a tributary, subservient relation to the Golden Horde

4. Do we have any sort of legislature of significance? If so is it democratic at all?

There is just the traditional Kurultai of tribal and urban leaders. It doesn't have much power, and probably doesn't count anyway.

5. I would guess we are a hodgepodge of all sorts of religions but assuming Islam is the majority, is it more favored in the government? How many Christians reside in the country? Actually, how large a role does religion play in everyday life in the Horde anyways?

There are indeed many different religions. The traditional state religion is Buddhism coupled with traditional Turkic beliefs, but Islam and various western and eastern brands of Christianity are present as well; the majority tends to practice a confusing syncretic mix of tribal beliefs and either Islam, Buddhism or Nestorian Christianity (with the latter component usually predominant on the surface). This being a traditional society, religion is important, but religious disagreements are often not so due to the aforesaid syncretism.

6. I'm aware most of our industrialization is in the Western third of the country but does that mean the natural resources in other areas have yet to be tapped into? Also, how is our rail development?

The development of western resources has only recently began; the rest remain untapped, but keep in mind that the west only started to develop at the price of permitting corruption and Tverian economic infiltration.

7. How are our relations with Chernigov? What about with Iran and the Qing?

There is some bad blood with Chernigov, both due to the Tatar raids that are now mostly a thing of the past and due to the (perceived as well as real) Tverian influence in the Golden Horde. The Mustafid Shahate is a trading partner and not much else; the Qing dispute your status as the successor of the Genghisid empire.

Besides New Albion and Australia, what other regions have a legacy of control by the British Empire?

Arcadia, the Argentine, Japanese North America, a few outposts in northeastern South America and western Central Africa, and a few trading posts in southwestern India.

I was under the impression that Orinoco was fairly loyal and happy, despite the autonomists, while Western Africa is in close proximity to restive African empires such as the Asante.

It's not as though it is about to explode or anything, whereas the African colonies are, for the most part, small outposts/refueling stations populated by loyal German citizens. The natives are present in the countryside, but they are usually ignored for most purposes, and in any case do not have much connection with the Asante; no rebellion whatsoever brewing there, even less so than in Orinoco.

What religion is Tver?

Thlayli can't decide whether it's Uniate or Latin, and I've been told I have a large non-Uniate population.

I believe that Tver is actually Roman Catholic. Not Unitate. That being said, it's as far away from Roman Catholic as possible and still be "Roman Catholic"
