Steam just downloaded a new patch, but when I went to the update history to read the patch notes, I found that Valve apparently made a mistake and gave us the patch notes for the game Rhythm Zone instead.

I feel a surge of hope every time I see a Civ5 patch, so... anyone happen to have access to the correct patch notes? Thanks.

Yeah, that was weird. Either a wrong patch, or the wrong patch notes.

Game works fine though, and still says it's .20 version.

The exes have updated though, I checked the installation folder, so it's probably wrong patch notes. But then I don't know why the game still displays the older version number?

Valve has nothing to do with Firaxsis and 2K not putting patchnotes into steam notes table like pretty much every other title does. They only release them at their forums:

Why? Lazy sobs. Still not Valves fault.

Well, developers upload updates through the developer tools and Steam automatically deploys them, so Valve definitely has SOMETHING to do with the platform that they own.

And 2k/Firaxis HAVE also been uploading the patch notes on Steam, but with a slight delay.

I have an update I am also seeing still .20 though

I had a pretty weird message that the installation failed, then relaunched, installed completely, launched the game stil .20

some patch fail I guess

That is exactly what happened to me as well. /ponder

That's IT?????

according to the patch notes it just fixed a bug that crashed when using spanish Win XP. great...

Except this was also in the patch notes right above the XP line:

"Updates to Rhythm Zone have been released. The updates will be applied automatically when your Steam client is restarted. The major changes include:"

Rhythm Zone... lolwut...

Someone correct me if I'm not remembering correctly, but didn't the last patch cause the problem that this patch resolves?

Just asked 2K Greg on the official forum, keep you posted (if ever he answers me)

as one can imagine things the topic on the official forum is going haywire.

But hey, that's like this since the launch (and maybe before that)

ITT: People that consider quick deployment of updates and fixes a bad thing.
Sorry, what does 'ITT' mean? :)

Personally I think it's great by the way. Especially with the unintrusive automatic-patch-system of Steam.
I'd rather have a small patch twice a week that fix a few problems than one massive patch once every few months.

I think this is a good patch. Apparently the spanish XP bug was effecting.. pretty much everyone with xp in a spanish speaking country.

Wrong.

If developer does not fill the reason for global update, how in the hell valve can fix that? Publisher or Firaxis has filled them couple days after both patches, but initially left them blank. Its not Valves fault by any length. How other does other steam games manage to get patch notes at the same time they push them up? And some lazy developers miss them every time? (Relic, Firaxis..)

PS. Patch notes have been late on K2 forums too, is that Valves fault too? Developer has nothing to do with it? :crazyeye:

Maybe 2K thought no spanish would buy the game after the (weird) absence of Isabelle in civ V
