New Player Survey

Isn't SteamDB only for games that is released, or at least has a store page? The next project of Firaxis is hardly even more than soft announced, after all.
Anything that is *on Steam* shows up on SteamDB. That includes apps for testing only.

The hard part is sorting through *everything on Steam* until you find it. Especially if it doesn't have an actual name or company attached to the app. Then it's next to impossible.

I would assume that "partnering with a different brand" would not involve another historical-flavored 4x game.

Rather, it might mean that they could have some fictional scenarios based on an established IP. Possibly, they might have a DLC civ that is fictional or a fictional alt-leader for an existing civ. Certainly, something that could be disabled.

Alternatively, it might mean Civ 7 leaders guest appearing in Tekken 7 or something, and you get some Civ perk for buying the other game.

Another "partnering with a different brand" thing they could do:

Civ 7 toys in McDonald's Happy Meals.
Please make it Fortnite. I don't want to go to McDonalds to get my mini Gandhi, it's not good for my (and everyone's) diet.

I think a Civ themed concert (with Christopher Tin) would be amazing.

And actually I'm just popping in here to say: If there is somewhere a free-text field, please put down http://www.civfanatics.com/ , and I don't care what they're asking for!

Sid Johnson's Old Civilization World.

*cough*

There is no feedback on game bugs in the survey. The spelling error in Units.artdef (Modenr) has not been fixed yet.

I finally took the survey myself. I found it somewhat interesting that they asked about what platforms I play on, but only what genres I play on PC. Also, that the "franchises you have heard of before today" included ARA and HK, but not Millennia or Old World.

That's not really surprising as there aren't a lot of Civ competitors on consoles at the moment.

Also, that the "franchises you have heard of before today" included ARA and HK, but not Millennia or Old World.
That makes sense from Firaxis's perspective. Ara and Humankind are made by major competitors while Old World is made by a small studio and doesn't seem to have had a large impact and Millennia, while published by Paradox, is not a Paradox game and is the first game from a new studio.

Also, is the a link to the survey because I don't have the game installed at the moment and don't feel like installing to just take the survey.

ill just sit in the corner waiting for Civ VII, but a board game seems good enough.

Yeah, it did ask what features you'd like to see in a tabletop game, if you expressed interest in that.

I found it interesting that the survey asked about all the games (Civ1 thru Civ6), with some more details about how much one might be playing Civ2 thru Civ6. They did not ask about any spinoff games, such as Colonization, SMAC, or Beyond Earth.

Although I responded that I would be "slightly interested" in a tabletop game, I'm now reconsidering my answer. In a tabletop game, all players can see the whole game board. I can't think of a good way (in game terms) for the exploration phase, learning what's out there. That aspect is a big part of the fun in the early game, dispersing the fog of war or revealing the map. Fun for me, anyway. Would be hard to carry that part over, into a tabletop game.

There's quite a few board games with expanding boards. Civilization New Dawn itself seems to do something of the sort, though I never played it.

On boot this morning there's a new player survey:

(I suggest you take it, b'cos this is the mechanism by which companies usually collect feedback - not from forums, socials, etc. traditionally. So this is the way to convey your feedback to Firaxis and 2K).

Interestingly, there is one question:

"Civilization partnership with different brands".

Maybe Civ VII built on Amplitude's HUMANKIND engine?

Do you, or does anyone else, have a link to this survey?
