New Technology Tree Analysis

Yes, Guilds is the same tech that we saw only a piece of following Currency.

I think the other icon is a windmill. Is that new?

Am I the only one who thinxs notre dam is bad placed in the tech tree .

If you are going to warmonger you are basicly going through the under tech tree.

A militaristic tech shouldn't give you a economic bonus.

If you look at it notre dam is even easier to pick up now.

They should have put the notre dam somewhere at a economic tech in the middle (architecture ?)

It's a happiness bonus, right? That's good for a conqueror.

I'm pleased that they moved the Great Lighthouse from Sailing to Optics (where I think it was originally). Just silly to be able to build a Great Lighthouse but not a regular one.

I hope they gave the Great Lighthouse an additional benefit. The main benefit of it in Vanilla is that you can put off researching Optics. No maintenance and the movement/sight bonus isn't really worth the extra hammers compared to a normal Lighthouse. At least not if you compare it to the Great Library, which gives a free tech and 3 beakers in addition to the base building.

Because you can't build trading posts anymore early on gold is rare and getting a early merchant and putting a custom house up is really powerfull early on now;

The lighthouse can give you a merchant fast if you go to currency fast Put a merchant in the city with the wonder and get a merchant

It will be a lot more effective to build the Colossus for that.

Problem with the Great Lighthouse is also that because it takes longer to build, you delay the extra food from Fish and thus city growth for a significant number of turns. The delay also happens with the Great Library, but as the Great Library gives a free tech and 3 extra beakers, you make that up quickly.

Just out of curiosity, I notice the DLC ancient wonders aren't included in this Tech Tree. Do we know if they are going to be shifted around or can we assume they will remain in their current placement?

Artemis via Archery, Zeus via Bronze Working, and Halicanarsis via Masonry.

I like all of the Wonder placements so far. I didn't care for certain techs hoarding Wonders while others only give you a unit. Not very balanced.

Because other wonders were moved, it's now much better balanced. They might leave them where they are.

Circus Maximus has seemingly been moved to Horseback riding this seems odd if its still the national wonder associated with colosseums?
Since all other National wonders are either on the same tech or tech line as their prerequisite building why isn't Circus Max.?
Does this mean that Circus Maximus has been moved to be the national wonder requiring Circuses instead of Colosseum? and if so does that me we will be able to build circuses in every city regardless of resources available?
