New terrain features

We only had time to go to the Observation Deck outside of Winslow.

Outside of Winslow is the Meteor Crater (or Barringer Crater, if you prefer). It is very impressive, but not the Grand Canyon. The Grand Canyon is probably about a 2 hour drive from there (I have never actually gone to what would be the closer side of it to there but have have gone to the north rim more than once, up around the Grand Canyon Lodge, and also headed over to the crater on the way east).

Which brings up the question of whether or not there is a Meteor Crater natural wonder. It may be vastly smaller than the Grand Canyon, but it was formed practically instantaneously rather than over the course of millions of years.

@GE,

We went to the Grand Canyon and to Winslow on the same drive. And it was 38 years ago. :p :old:

Nice touch on the caves, they look natural at the bottom of the hill.

They are not limited to hills, because they can't be, but I have only seen them appear on hills so far.

Should Cave Dwelling building require Caves terrain feature in the city vicinity?

Only if the tech is made a dead end tech.

Assuming you mean the building(s), I think that's probably a good idea. There's the Neanderthal Cave as well isn't there?

Yes the Neanderthal Cave would also be one. I also do not think Cave Dwelling tech should be a dead end tech.

In addition Cave Painting and Lascaux Paints should require Caves as well.

I also would like to make some other new buildings that depend upon caves.

I agree, caves are still around in Colorado alot. New buildings, with caves, :agree:

Hmm, caves are quite frequent, France and Hungary have TONS of caves all through out their country. If you make them a terrain feature, then require it to exist so that you may make said buildings, then with the 300+ resources and various terrains we already have in game, it would make those features rare, unlike real life, where they were quite prevalent in those times?

Well, in the prehistory part of the game, I can see Caves being an important feature, it would allow you to stay in one place longer before moving.

But once people create the ability to make wood, then stone houses, they would be obsolete and useless. I can sort of see what DH is thinking...

Then again just because you have caves doesn't mean they are habitable. The major caves are a lot less frequent.

In France, they are so common, that a lot of them are still is use. Some for wine, some for fungi and some... still for housing!

So, caves can be require for a lot of thing, even modern one (the BatCave :D)
