Gary... The fallshirmjager looks GreatI like that nice looking Chute.
The crucifix jump was not the best position for landing and called for the parachutist to land on all fours, which resulted in a high proportion of serious ankle and wrist injuries even when wearing padded protection.
Nice, but shouldn't later war FG wear camo?
I don't know how widespread the camo/non camo was, and how it evolved from the beginning to the end of the war, but in my mind, camo would be better for late war.
As a general principle, and particularly for the Fallshirmjager.Hi Steph: You mean camo for the Fallshirmjager or camo for all the units?
As a general principle, and particularly for the Fallshirmjager.
If we have start of war unit with one colour uniform + basic weapon like mauser, and then we have camo + MP44, it gives a nice upgrade feeling.
I hope this is OK. Instead of landing on all fours I have him landing on two feet, one ahead of the other and then he picks himself upright. He descends the way fallshirmjagers descend. He just doesn't land on all fours.

OK. Next unit, another fallshirmjager, this time WITH civ color (and the special paradrop) has been added to the first post. Please check it out.![]()
The Germans re-used items a lot. Especially during the later years of the war due to shortages. For example, the low boots and "gamaschen" were created and issued later in the war, as the standard jackboots were draining the supply of leather. But in some late war pictures you can see some very young soldiers wearing the old jackboots.Nice, but shouldn't later war FG wear camo?
