New Units (Combat based)

Okay I'll start with an interesting one:
Heroes:
When a unit is attacked and destroyed it has a 5% of not dying and creating a hero. (Chance is increased by 1% for every enemy unit within two tiles.)

If it becomes a hero it will become one of these three tiers:

(60% of heroes) Brave Leader: Has a CS = to the melee unit of world era + 1
+5% CS to every friendly unit in one tile of him
+2 loyalty in your nearest city

(35% of heroes) Champion: Has CS = to melee unit of world era + 2
+7% CS to every friendly unit in one tile of him
+3 loyalty to nearest city
5 culture when killed

(5% of heroes) Hero of The People: Has CS = Heavy Calvary of the era (Or light if there is no heavy) + 2
+10% CS to every friendly unit in one tile of him
+5 loyalty to all cities
10 culture when killed
Can use a rally ability when on tile improvements if player is at war. (Has a chance of spawning low tier units)

Each hero will get a random name from your civs name list.
 
Sorry to post on myself but I'd also love to see more knights in this game (or just long-sword men returning)
Also we deserve axmen as a new unit type (Brawler or something like that that has high attack but low defense)
