New Version - August 23rd (8-23)

I played a game of Venice. Few remarks:
  • The Taj Mahal is super underwhelming. It basically gives a golden age and around 8+- GAP through out the game, which is worthless. A happiness point worth much more than a GAP point. Compared to the Progress finisher building, the Tah Mahal is quite useless.
  • Reaching late game, would it be an option to make Research Agreement proc at less amount of turns? On Epic speed, its 75 turns if Im not mistaken. Maybe reduce it by 10 in the last age, and by 10 more in the pre-last age.
  • Playing Venice with a bunch of puppet cities is super hard, mainly because the puppet's buildings prioritization. The thing is, with the new investment mechanic, you can invest in a building and then change the queue what it can build, that good. But when in war, I want the puppet city to build the 'defence' thing, that gives defense based on amount of hammers to the city. Moreover it optimize advanced buildings instead of going for the basics. For example, it will keep building culture buildings, but forgo defense, gardens, production buildings. The worst thing, is when you puppet city decides to go for guilds, potentially stealing a guild from your non-puppet cities (because you can have up to 3).

Huh? Non-puppet city in Venice? So just Venice which should be one of the most populous city in the game because of its insane growth trade route bonuses or internal trade routes as well?
 
Taj Mahal is nice think, in one of previous games I spend all my faith in industrial/modern era on inquisitors, cause that unhappiness was so huge(and I was with new Piety - I was thinking that it will be enough). At that time I understand that it was a mistake not to build Taj Mahal with GE.

And yeah, after industrial era Research Agreements becomes very bad - here I agree with u.

U cant sell guilds? I don't remember can Venice sell guilds or not...
 
60 experience as reward from tribute demand in ancient era... wow, it is already almost a March promotion.
 
Huh? Non-puppet city in Venice? So just Venice which should be one of the most populous city in the game because of its insane growth trade route bonuses or internal trade routes as well?

Funnily enough, I had 3 puppet city that started to build the writers guild. Making that I cant build it in the capital.

Im pretty sure you cannot sell stuff in a puppeted city.
 
108 influence for clearing a barb camp... Turn 37 on epic speed. Havent even finished my second tech.

Might give AI Germany a much needed edge, if luck based. Otherwise it adds some extra RNG to early starts, which isn't that bad since early influence became rarer after the unit gift nerf.
 
Well i would prefer just higher quest rewards across the board instead of a big randomizer value.
 
CBP Version 2017-8-23 Modpack, so you can play Multiplayer and/or Quickly Load etc.

This is my Third Modpack upload, haven't had any noticable problems so far :)

Those of you reporting quest gains, there's a randomizer value added in to quest creation. Really high numbers are just lucky.

Should it really be that high though? Seems like to much rng in the early game.
Some amount of randomization seems like a good idea.

Since most quests give two rewards ( :c5influence:Influence and :c5culture:/:c5food:/:c5goldenage:/:c5gold:/:c5war:/etc.), what if we make quests that are randomly high in one reward more likely to be low in the other? So different quests will be more Influence-oriented (better for long-term relationship building) while others will be more geared towards other instant yield rewards, with a spread/spectrum in the middle.

You can invest in a cheap building and drag that to 1st building priority which then allows the capital to build it.

That will not work.(On may version was just this way) Only sell after u build it. And if u need it Only in Capital then place guilds there in the end of building order list just to reserve for Capital.

Thank you so much, this is the first Modpack with the community patch that works for me.

I tried that. Once the Guild is queued, it is set up to be in the puppet city, and you cannot build it in the capital.
 
The randomizer value on quests is too high. 99 xp for all millitary units for tribute in beginning classical era. But wait, there's more! Do it in the next 45 turns and we'll thhrow in 30 influence and 122 gold.

I agree, the values seem too high now. They might've been too low sometimes before, but now it's almost always too high unless the CS hates your guts. 99XP is beyond crazy, free logistics/march/whatever you want on all your units?
