Hello, I'm new here. I've been reading through a lot of the posts, but everything is so scattered about it's difficult to find consistent strategies that I'm looking for.
Anyhow, I'm playing Vanilla Civ3, no mods or anything, and I need help.
I am playing as the Persians on Monarchy level of difficulty on a huge map, with the default rules and default amount of civ opponents.
My problem is that I always end up producing slower, and gaining tech slower. My main goal is to complete the Great Library before the AI can, but I can never get it.
Could you guys give me some ideas on what steps I should take to be the first to get these wonders before the AI does?
Oh, on a side note: I place my settler on the square I start at, get my worker going, I develop a warrior to scope out the surrounding land for goody huts, and I produce a settler ASAP so I can expand quickly. That's my basic strategy. Are there any faults to this?
Also, I read a few things on armies and how to create them, but I'm still confused. Can anyone direct me to the right place to read up on how to mobilize an army? (Sorry for this stupid question)
Thanks in advance.
