Wow... the hard deity level stopped quite a few people winning, but it didn't stop everyone! But most significantly, it didn't stop @Pangaea from getting his first eptathlon! A BtS eptathlon requires a gold medal and a fastest finish award for every category of victory, which he completed in this game with a first fastest religious win. Big congratulations @Pangaea!:bowdown::band:

Back to the wins - and it turns out just three people played contender and won - which means every victor also won a medal. @Fippy took gold with a 1515 AD conquest, @Pangaea the silver, and @Jovan Kukic the bronze for a 1745 AD cultural win. Well done - I think any win on deity is amazing. @Smiregal gave us the only other victory - but it was played on the prince level adventurer save, so doesn't qualify for the awards.

Here's where everyone settled.

The Small Print:
The numbers by each player's name indicate the turn settled on (starting turn is 0). Players are colour coded by game class (challenger=red, adventurer=blue). Symbols indicate victory condition, if there's no symbol then the player either retired or was defeated. The yellow border indicates the land that was visible at the start of the game.

Woot! Thank you. It took a long time, but really nice feeling to tick off all the boxes :grouphug:

Congrats to Fippy for smashing this rough map with a conquest win. And also to Jovan Kukic for a culture win. Definitely a challenging map.

(As I mentioned in the spoiler thread, there was something off with the points. The victory screen showed 194k, while the submission page showed 166k. Doesn't impact anything here, but I wondered why that was.)

Congrats on your Nude Dude, Pangaea!

Way to go, My! ;) A Conquest win was extremely challenging on this map.

@Pangaea I opened both your's and My's saves and the scores do seem off. My's score is off by over 100K. Those scores are what I'd expect to see posted in the results.

I've asked the other staff about that as I'm not sure what's going on there. My guess is it may be something to do with competition scoring system normalising scores by difficulty level to avoid unwanted challenger bonuses when challenger is on a higher difficulty, but that's just a guess and it's not really my area of expertise.

Normally that could be the case, but not here I don't think. Because this isn't a Challenger save. Contender is on Deity.

I'm purely speculating here, but I wonder if the correction works by normalising all scores to some fixed level, irrespective of what the contender level is for any particular game. If so, that would account for contender discrepancies.

Would it be prudent to call on @AlanH here? I thought for Contender games, scores should be the ones reported in the game. Seems a bit odd if it isn't? Is it because this was a Deity game? So maybe they got normalised for Immortal or something?

BOTM 200 and BOTM 201 managed to screw up the parsing system quite comprehensively. I tried to adapt it to cope with the team structures of those games, but failed. And an unintended consquence of my work was that the scores for subsequent games were calculated incorrectly.

I have now reverted the changes I made for 200 and 201, and I have recalculated the scores for the newer games accordingly. Please let me know if you spot any more discrepancies.

I apologise for the inconvenience this has caused.

Thanks to you, AlanH, for all you do for us. :)

No worries at all, glad you figured out what had happened. Just a guess here, but the erroneous loss reports from 201 could probably have been avoided if the human had been shifted to player 1. From what I recall, it looked like our teammate was first in the list, so maybe that confused things some extra for the parsing system.
