Here's where everyone settled.

The Small Print:
The numbers by each player's name indicate the turn settled on (starting turn is 185). Players are colour coded by game class (challenger=red, adventurer=blue). Symbols indicate victory condition, if there's no symbol then the player either retired or was defeated. The yellow border indicates the land that was visible at the start of the game.

Congratulations to the winners! And especially to Jovan Kukic who beat my score milking try with a fast domination victory!
(And in BOTM31 you beat me by a few turns to fastest conquest  :goodjob:)

Haha, I was all chuffed about getting an award until I saw what it was for

I should also get an award for "winning via a method I wasn't trying for" :p

Congrats to the winners, maybe one day I could win a game before 1500AD... impressive stuff.

Slava, slava, slava Jovane! :culture:
Great diplo date too.

.....from the final spoiler....
Game over next turn. Now the decision... I'm at 65% in land area and this would put me over the Dom limit, or I can liberate some cities and stay under the Dom limit, thus assuring a Conquest victory. Since my date is very slow (1545AD) for a military victory, I decide I'll just keep the points and accept Domination. But suprisingly enough, the victory screen says Conquest Victory for Montezuma anyhow. (157109 points). Confused me, but it doesn't really matter.

It looks like the game did you a favour. Congrats on the fastest conquest.

The-Hawk said:
1280 AD: Tip domination limit for 171 K points. I could have taken a Conquest victory (Surya was the last AI and was ready to capitulate), but decided my date was too slow to be competitive for conquest.

Wow, I screwed up this one .

Congrats to the winners!

Seems like The-Hawk made the same judgment as me, that this was too slow for a fast conquest. (He just executed better, much to his detriment).
Talk about some RNG luck! :lmao:

As happy as I am with my first ever non-religion and non-shield award... I feel like I ought to just lay low :hide: this time.

no, I mean, why should you? Jovan Kukic could have certainly done an earlier conquest victory but he did not; you played well and had some luck so congrats!

Got my second award, unfortunately in the category I already have - should have known that beforehand though ;)

Yep... I'm now a proud member of the "hit'em where they aint" club. :)
The irony of course is that I made the same judgement as The-Hawk, but got conquest instead of domination on a roll of the dice. I totally expected that domination was the default when both conditions are met on the final turn. Learned something, at least. :crazyeye:

I am very pleased that my score placed in the top 5 or 6. That I earned by playing a good game, at least.

Oh, and I should also mention that this game I had meant to play the challenger save but misclicked... a perfect storm of random events.

Getting a conquest victory in this game surely require more effort than a domination win and I don't think there's luck involved. You have to let all AIs down instead of part of them. Congratulations to kcd_swede.:goodjob:

Solid game and congrats to all the medal and award winners, well done.

Let me second what other's said... This was a great outcome and well deserved award! I was just pointing out my own folly. No way was I inferring anything about your win. Heck I know darn well every award I've ever won could have been beaten by a better player if they had chosen my victory condition. Doesn't detract from them one bit. Well done!

After quite long pause, this is perfect opportunity to post on forum again :) 4 nice things in same time: 2 medals and 2 awards in last 2 GOTMs ( BOTM 33 and GOTM 58).
Meister Maggi, the game decided if I had domination or conquest victory.
As it already happened sometimes before, this time I again had both domination and conquest victory in same time. I noticed that mostly I got conquest victory if both victories are in same turn. This time I gained domination victory, probably due to the fact that I haven't killed any opponent civ. I don't know much about that mechanism which decides which victory is first, so I would like that somebody who knows how it works explains that to us, pls :)

How did you get conquest if you didn't kill an opponent in that turn?

In last turn my last opponent has capitulated. So both domination and conquest goals were fulfilled :) . After I pressed enter, game ended, and game decided it was domination.

I had this effect now two times in a row (BOTM33 and 34). Both times I fulfilled domination and conquest and the RNG gave me Domination. I read somewhere (as far as I remember Dynamic posted this) that in such a case the victory type is chosen randomly by the game.

Just dropping in to say, sorry I wasn't around to publish the results - thanks to Alan for doing that :goodjob: I've just been looking through the results - the usual congratulations for some impressive victories.

In fact, congratulations to everyone except jesusin, who appears to have singlehandedly practically destroyed the first-city-location map by settling so far away :p
