News from Aspyr on Steam

I wonder what they are doing this time. They haven't updated the depots for days. In the last weeks, they updated it every day which seems to be the normal procedure before release. And now... nothing. I don't get it. Is there a major release coming from Aspyr in some way so that they need all resources for this other project?

I'm not sure how exactly the system works but my impression is that Aspyr has finished the patch and as such has no more updates to add to the depot. Instead they're waiting for steam approval to make the patch live, but that's just a feeling I have rather than something I can back up with evidence.

News:

"We're waiting for approvals at the moment :)."

They have been saying that for a couple of weeks, though, so *shrug*.

It's reaching the submission and approvals stage so we're shooting for mid-late March. We'll post any updates as we get them here: https://support.aspyr.com/hc/en-us/articles/216979606-Civilization-VI-STEAM-KB

Thanks for your patience!

I just wonder why. The two patches before (and also the DLC) where just around a week after PC iirc. I think the release of civ VI had a similar delay. This is very acceptable for me and I didn't think it would be faster anyway. To be honest, I was quite happy that it worked out so well. But I don't see why this particular patch/DLC is so different that it takes a month extra. I mean, there was already some time in between patches to work on cross-platform multiplayer and even now we don't know if the upcoming mac patch will include that. And if they are saying 'waiting for approval' since quite some days and haven't updated the macbranch and macqa in a week, which is supporting that remark, why does the approval take so long this time?

The Poland port also took like a month - the DLC was out mid December for PCs, and not til mid-Jan on Mac.

I'll actually be impressed if we get this with steam workshop given that it took them like 5 years to do that on Mac for Civ 5. Tho I dunno if that was more a steam side issue.

It's out now! :)

Downloading for me as we speak -- woohoo!!

So with mid-April announced, it's just 2-3 more weeks for us to wait  Seems realistic.

I believe it has been said that they will release sometime in the middle of the month, so it should be out by April 20ish. And it has been said that they will get synced with the spring update.

Yep that timeline is still on target. I should however stress that while cross platform play is the goal, we still have bugs to work through to reach that goal (reply from Aspyr).

Looks like the patch will be here fairly soon, but the cross-platform play is a bit less certain.

good freaking lord. what's the hold up? Aspyr folk taking to many half days down in Austin. Weather and beer must be good right now.

Hello,
I've got an update, but I'm not sure it's the last version of the game on my mac...
The game says that it's in version 1.0.0.110.
But on windows, it's in 1.0.0.129. (I'll go check this).

Do you have the 1.0.0.129 on the mac ?
