No thanks :p. Arabs may have been advanced during the middle ages, but they've spent most of the time since that rejecting any progression.

No real civ has maintained their in-game-niche across the ages (despite their propoganda).

Why let the modern Arabia tarnish the achievements of the past?

Regardless, I don't really care if the mechanics match any one particular interpretation of history, only that the mechanics are interesting (and somewhat balanced).

I would prefer the Civ6 Arabs to be more faith/trade based than science. Plus Saladin was not Abbasid, which was the empire associated with the "Islamic Golden Age".

I can see Russia having some faith bonuses as well. Especially after reading a Times article about Putin's visits to Mt Athos in Greece. :D Better not be some boring strategic resource bonus like in Civ5

Why do people always post that? I'm fairly sure the reason there was not a poll at the time you commented is because you have to set up a thread before you add the poll options.

Norway has spent the time since the Renaissance rejecting raiding and religion.
Germany has spent the information era Not attacking neighbors.

I wouldn't have "Science" as an Arabia civs focus, but a science benefit as part of its uniques, (like Spains mission) seems fine.

With the NDA dropping on September 29th and the game being shown in full, I would hope Firaxis shows off the last three civilizations (Arabia, Russia and Sumer) before then. Though to do that they would need to show one more this Friday and then next week on Monday and Wednesday or Tuesday and Thursday (the Thursday one being done before the NDA drops).

Since we just had three European civilizations back to back (Norway, Greece and Rome) we will either get a break and get a Middle Eastern civilization (either Arabia or Sumer) or get the last European civilization (Russia). I'm personally hoping for Russia but I wouldn't mind seeing either Arabia or Sumer.

NDA dropping is fantastic news.

i am really giving up here. not one single right vote. I want to see arabia and russia.

lets go with arabia

Sumer will probably be last. Although with Greece last week and Rome this week, maybe they're doing a tour of ancient civs.

Also, why is Poland always included in these polls? They've said 18 civs, and they're already at 18 (Aztecs are 19), Poland would make 20. Is it possible they would release a DLC civ so early after the release of the main game? (Who am I kidding of course it's possible.)

Since it's the only brand-new-to-Civ civilization left, I'm betting Sumer will be the last or nearly last revealed. Arabia and Russia are both 'old hands' in Civ, whereas Poland is relatively new, and to most people, ANY Polish leader would be unfamiliar, so I'm betting on Poland next.

I think Gorgo will be a fantasy-based DLC: didn't anybody notice that it was also the title of a 1960s-era Monster Movie? - Makes more sense than a Greece - Sparta split...

Sumer was in Civ 4, and also led by Gilgamesh. So all the remaining options are series veterans.

Byzantium may have been advanced during the middle ages, but they spent most of the time since then living under the Ottomans.

No Civ has been ahead technologically for all of history. If you use your logic, there will be zero science-y Civs in the game at all.

Arabia is a good opportunity for putting science and religion together. Madrasa should do the trick.

I can finally vote for something other than Rome :D

Gut feeling says Arabia.

Aztecs are DLC, and they were announced early. Who's to say they won't be revealing any other DLC? After all, we still don't know which four DLCs will come with Civilization VI Deluxe, they might want to announce them to incentivize them to pre-order the Delixe Edition.

China has been ahead more frequently than your average civ, and they do indeed have a science bonus.

Aztecs are a pre-order incentive being released on Day 0; that puts them in a completely different category compared to post-release DLC. The Aztecs have to be ready and polished at the same time as the base game; the rest of the DLC civs can wait until after the hectic release schedule is over. I'd be astonished if we saw any media regarding post-release DLC until after October 21.

I voted Russia. As of right now, the poll is reading Russia 37; Arabia 51; and Sumer 44. So, it is looking to be Russia. lol

I also wouldn't be surprised if they did rush out the remainders through next week, so...

Other: the civ who gets the least amount of votes in this poll, that is not Poland ;)

:agree::stupid::agree:

Answer otherwise known as "Firaxians are looking this poll and laughing"

More frequently than the average Civ is still not enough for his requirements, which were maintaining such a lead indefinitely.

Even if China's Eureka & Inspiration boost is powerful, I hope it *feels* powerful. Right now, I'm not super excited about the extra boost. Doesn't feel like a science/culture beast. We'll see.
