My guess: Poland & Gorgo are DLC
Russia deferred until the first day in October that they release anyone (October Revolution)
Arabia also deferred until some time in October to avoid association with 9/11.
Which leaves Sumer next.

Sounds logical... though, has logic really been a factor for the FLs?

At least, from our perspective...

What....no Rome option? j/k :D

Well Rome is out the consistently most dull and disappointing Civ. Lets hope for Sumeria!'

Seriously, were we looking at the same "First Look" video?

He's got a point. While I'm sure there are a ton of subtleties, it looks like these could easily be ignored, boiling this civ's playstyle to just city spamming with steroids. Certainly the AI will have no trouble taking full advantage of their playstyle traits.

But I do agree there are also probably a lot of interesting early gambits opened up by this early potency. Making them feel very unique and highly adaptable right from the onset from one game to the next.

I'd say they are at once very simple but also offer deep complexity. I imagine they will unfortunately become a favourite of mine when trying to breach deity, unfortunately because I don't like Rome, but they seem a conglomerate of my two favourite Civ5 civs, Carthage and Shoshone.

Anywho, I voted Arabia, because I am still hoping for a civ that can focus on building a focused trade Empire. None yet really scratch this itch for me in a way I'd like. I think Arabia is my last hope

Rome's playstyle is about going super wide with free bonuses that help reduce the micromanagement of going wide.

That doesn't scream interesting. It can still be fun though. Not a weird perspective at all.

I don't know except to say that Sumer will be last. Since they were the first civilization, the first shall be last and the last first. America was first, IIRC. :)

Igromir is next Thursday. I wonder if this will be tied to Russia reveal.

My guess is Gorgo is in the base game. If not, they need to edit Civilopedia for people who own standard editon. For instance, "Some civilizations have multiple leaders if you buy DLCs" or something like that. Unless this "DLC" is also part of the base game.

I think that it will be Arabia in order to break the streak of western civs. Russia will be next (and will likely be scientific minded), and Sumeria will be the last one to be shown, because irony.

Russia -> Arabia (the further from 9/11 the better) -> Sumer (to save fresh civ for the end, as well as symbolic "first civ shown last") -> Poland DLC -> Gorgo DLC (to save multiple leaders official confirmation at the end).

So its down to Russia, Sumer and Arabia. And still there is another Civ missing with a DIRECT science bonus yield something (yeah, bonus eureka and bonus generall district adjacency doesnt count for me :P).
Arabia will have the madrasa and it will be properly a UB/UD for religion, but it still might have some bonus to science like the mission of spain. But I think that might be not the case.
Arabia will be probably a strong mid game civ. Their UU will be probably some cavalry unit in the medieval ages, ranged or not, cant tell...

So we have Sumer and Russia for a flat Science bonus. So the chance are still high, that the Russians get a UB in the campus, maybe a better research lab like in Civ 4? Would be the second quite late UB after Japan's Electronic Factory. I think, that Russia will be a late game focused civ, Peter might give it sth general, but their UU will be probably not before the Renaissance, maybe the fourth late game unit as a tank after special battleship, submarine and fighter plane.

Maybe Russia is straight forward and just get the Tsar-Bomb as UU! ;) :D Kill everything in a 6 tile radius ...

So, Sumer will probably a civ with big early game advantages which they might preserve over time plus some general uniques. The UU will definitly be an ancient or classical era unit and maybe they get UI boosting food or science?

You do know it was on November 9?

It was on 25 October on the Julian calender hence it's name, which translates into 7 November on the Gregorian Calender.

Sumer, always

Spain has a direct science bonus, Missions give +science when next to a Campus.

In any case I am guessing

F/M-Russia
M/T-Arabia
T/W-Sumer (last=first civ)
Then the "Surprise" Gorgo (not DLC) announcement. on late Wednesday (before NDA lifts)

NDA for famous youtuber who got early access will be lifted next Thursday though, I am hoping we see all remaining CIV first look videos before then.

Igromir is next Thursday. I wonder if this will be tied to Russia reveal.
