Next patch anticipation thread

Civ V had a total of 7 DLC civs (plus several other lesser DLC packs) in the first year and G&K came out 1.5 years after release.

I expect the first expansion next summer.

Didn't that article you linked in another thread mention they were already working on an expansion? Also, I vaguely remember reading a few years back that Firaxis wasn't entirely satisfied with the sales for the individual Civ V DLC, and that was one of the reasons they went back to full expansions. If that's true, the only reason they bothered with individual DLCs this time around might have been to enable them to sell a deluxe edition/season pass at launch, and once they've fulfilled their obligations in that regard they'll go full steam ahead with xpacks.

Makes you wonder if there will be more than two expansion packs this time. Maybe they'll take the Paradox route; there's enough use of existing Paradox mechanics in Civ VI to suggest something.

I'd love 3+ expansions. On towards the 100 civs/leaders!

I'm surprised we haven't seen the usual Mac/Linux qa build update yet. I hope that's a good sign for those players.

Looks like Linux is going hot. We will see if Mac follows suit.

Mac is now also.

Congratulations, everyone is now on patch 3.

Moderator Action: Update: It is reported that the Mac and Linux patches are not yet live on Steam. Thread reopened to allow folks to post what they know about status of those two patches.

@Browd

What about those who play the Mac App Store version of Civ VI? They're still waiting for the patch.
Not just App Store version users. It's still not on steam for mac.

And interestingly, a lot of the negative remarks on steam this DLC seem to be about not being available for mac/linux. Some people seem to believe that is really a windows only DLC...

Thank you very much all of you - been lurking through 78 pages of Anticipation posts - Fun and exiting - will lurk on - in the new and improved DLC04 anticipation thread - Thanks mister Eagle 4 keeping the dream alive - Flaxitux.

Aspyr said weeks, so I doubt it.
Yes, I was wondering about that. I interpreted it as "not this week" when they first said it last week. Now they repeated it yesterday. So are they testing cross-platform multiplayer that may not need new builds every day?

Edit: did they repeat it yesterday? Or was the quote older (from last week?)

I think it will probably update this afternoon.

Aspyr has basically said that they won't be doing cross-platform multiplayer until there are less frequent patches (as otherwise people would be unable to play with the versions out of sync). So I'm guessing that won't be on the cards until after DLC 04 (with which I'd expect another patch).

Mac QA updated again. Along with the Redist again.

So don't be alarmed by a small download.

Linux QA has updated now as well.

I can't imagine being moved by much of anything at this point.
