The "more news" section Workshop and Multiplayer teams are coming:
A new free update for Civilization VI is coming soon to all Steam users. It will include some great new features such as Steam Workshop and modding tools, as well as multiplayer team functionality.
Multiplayer teams and mod tools have been two of the community’s most-requested features, and we’re happy to bring them to Civilization VI. Steam Workshop will allow you to browse, add, and subscribe to mods more easily, and the other tools will make it easier for artists and modders to express their creativity within the game. With the update to multiplayer you will be able to team up with your friends to conquer the world together against AI or human opponents.
There are also balance changes and bug fixes coming in this update, ranging from trade routes to ice caps, obsolete units to AI upgrades. We’ll go more in-depth on these details at a later time.
Finally, we’re also announcing the next premium DLC pack featuring, for the first time ever in a Civilization game, Australia, led by Prime Minister John Curtin.
Edit: Also its called the Australian Summer Update, so must drop before Feb 28 the end of the Australian summer.
Yes, I still think Isabella (Spain second leader) is in the pipeline if we're going by that old leader head picture.
I dunno, I just read the announcement as two things. I think we'll potentially get Isabella this week as part of the update, then the Australian pack later in the year. The release only says they're announcing the DLC ? Or am I reading it wrong?
TBH I bet they have a selection of civs already made and ready to go with a few balance changes but they just pick which one to release based on patch times and whatnot.
Thought about it. Think the 2nd leader will hit this week as well. My guess would be Thursday or Friday.
If i were firaxis i would launch the patch notes on Wednesday or Thursday to keep us entertained.

Thats possible, I always thought it was odd that they had Sean Bean record the lines for the Poland intro but that the quotes for the natural wonders in the Viking pack have no audio. Makes it seem like one was planned for ahead of time and the other was a last minute reshuffle.

True, but they could still have had him record the lines for a dozen or more potential civs and leaders ahead of time and then be free to develop them in any order they like.
Well, Australia is a bit lame given that there are many other deserving options, but at least it's fresh. Excited to see what the patch entails. I expect people will raise Sound and Fury if we do not get anything other than Australia in the DLC.

Well dare I say Lyseforde just looks like a very bad reskin of Mirror Sound/Pioipohtalhi (you can see graps in the textures where they suck the new bits on (I'm love Firaxis and always try to defend them but I even have to admit that Lyseford is sloppy graphically)).
As for Isabella, with 10 achievements I can definitely see her too, 2 for John Curtain of Oz, 2 for Isabella of Portugal of Spain and possibly even another bringing it up to 6 Achivements leaving 4 for other means. Isabella on the otherhand could be a free DLC included in the patch though, seeing as she will just be an addon for Spain (only amounting to a quarter of a standalone Civ DLC)
