Nineteen Twenty-Four

EMPIRES AND NATIONS OF THE WORLD

British Union
Capital: London
Government: Single-Party Fascist State
Spoiler Factions :
Emma Sutler's Faction or 'the Vanguards', led by the Chancellor herself, is composed of the party's original founders and old guards. They support the maintenance of the present situation, in which the party maintains political control by criminalizing opposition and suppress the freedom of speech by controlling the media. The common citizen's economic life is largely regulated by the government, while big corporations particularly those owned by high ranking government officials remain free. This faction is the most prominent and influential of the party and gains massive amount of material and financial support from the corporations that supported them since the beginning.

Adam Collins's Faction or 'the Regionalists' is composed of non-English government officials, led by Irish MP Adam Collins. The faction supports more power to the regional governments of Scotland, Ireland, and Wales. Their main issue is to counterbalance English dominance in national affairs. Other than that, they believe in maintaining the status quo in economic policy, while allowing more civil freedom for the citizens, including religious freedom. They posses support from officials in the regional governments and mainly Catholic Ireland.

Sarah Eynstone's Faction or 'the Fundamentalists' is composed of the party's hardliner religious fundamentalists, led by Sarah Eynstone the Archbishop of Canterbury and also an MP member. They seek suppressing rights even further under religious grounds, particularly against the predominantly Catholic Ireland. They also push for a the Anglican Church to play a greater role in the government. Economically, they believe that the corruption by uncontrolled large corporation has diverted the party away from its original goals of strengthening national faith, and thus corporations must be controlled and regulated by the church and state.

Danube Reich
Capital: Vienna
Government: Dictatorship
Spoiler Factions :
Christian Social Party: The only legal party, it is led by Fuhrer Adolf Habicht. It is hardline Catholic, anti-foreign and believes in the superiority of the Aryan race and blames the Jews and Slavs for everything. Democratic Party: Former ruling party, it is now outlawed. It has lost much of its support and is discredited.

Free City of Kraków
Capital: Kraków
Government: City Democracy
Spoiler Factions :
United Krakow: United Krakow emphasizes free trade and a laisse-faire economy. Their focus on the economy has led to an indifference toward other issues, however. They are more willing to pretend they don't exist than address them before they become a severe problem.

Kasprzakists: Kasprzak may have died in 1922, but his ideology lives on. Existing as a counter to the UK, Kasprzakists support protection of Krakowian industries and closer government regulation of the economy. They tend to support looser immigration laws and are more supportive of ethnic and religious minorities in Krakow.

United Poland: They are a one-issue party. Every members supports closer ties, ranging from economic and military agreements with the Polish Republic to outright annexation of Krakow by Poland. However, their support has been undermined by constant infighting. Almost all political ideologies are present in UP, including laissez-faire capitalists, Kasprzakists, and even a few socialists. It is guaranteed that if it ever achieves its goal of closer ties to Poland, the United Poland Party will break down.

Socialist: The Socialist Party is, as expected, a socialist party. Along with the socialists, hard-line communists, supporters of the Bolshevik Revolution in Russia, make up a noticeable minority in the party. Talks of expelling the Leninist minority are frequent, however they still remain part of the Socialist Party.

Greater Republic of Poland
Capital: Piast
Government: Democracy
Spoiler Factions :
Robert Piast led the Vanguards in establishing order in eastern europe after The Great War. The Vanguards are devoted to Order and economic prosperity, adopting US and western economic ideals to attract investors. They are polish based, meaning everyone outside poland has a slight resentment especially if Robert used force in order to assert his 'protection' over the lands. However most went quietly because of the growing threat of the USSR. They allow more or less autonomy in most regions unless they give trouble, and attempt to rule benevolently. However the growing city of Piast, named after Roberts old and ancient dynasty, grows by the day in competition with Krakow which is the traditional seat of the Piasts. Robert is currently trying to hold together his huge Republic by sheer force of will while delivering on his promise to bring prosperity to its lands.

The Pheonix Party wishes to assert tighter control over the entire country and allow less autonomy and democracy. This is relatively unpopular outside of poland though.

The Hellfire Party wishes to attack the USSR in a pre emptive strike. They also wish to expand via other means in order to further enrich Poland by conquest.

They generally support actions performed by the reigning Kaiser and will elect a relative of him when the time comes. Otherwise, they tend to be right leading and highly nationalist.

Gegensatz zu Haus Hohenzollern: The Gegensatz zu Haus Hohenzollern is a loose coalition of electors who wish to see House Hohenzollern replaced by another noble house, and generally ties for largest party with the Kaiserlichepartei. Despite their size, disagreement over who best to replace the Hohenzollern means they have yet to successfully overthrow them. The Gegensatz rarely vote as a block, but when they do, it is in opposition to the Kaiser.

Fürstbischöfe Des Reichstags: The Fürstbischöfe Des Reichstags represent the religious right of Germany, mostly through the Prince-Bishops in the diet. They are currently loosely allied with the Kaiserlichepartei, although will vote against them if the proposal works against the church. Since clergy are not allowed to be voted Emperor, they tend to support the Hohenzollern.

Föderalistischepartei: The Föderalistischepartei are a slightly leftist party whose goal is to reduce the power of the centralized government, in favor of the individual states. They tend to vote with The Gegensatz. However, some radicals within the Föderalistischepartei wish to remove the title of the Kaiser entirely, something opposed by all but the Volkspartei.

Volkspartei: The Volkspartei is the socialist party of Germany. They are radically opposed to the current government, instead favoring the creation of a communist government in line with the USSR. They have a very small presence within the diet, consisting of only a few elected officials, but maintain a fair amount of popularity with the lower class.

The Wafd Party supports economic liberalization and the opening of Egypt, as well as further democratization and federalization, and progress towards devolution for Cyprus, Yemen, Kenya/Uganda, and (although less so recently thanks to violence) Somaliland. Currently, the Wafd Party holds a majority in the unicameral National Assembly.

Watani Party: The major conservative party in the National Assembly, the Watani Party largely represents the interests of wealthy landowners.

HADITU (Democratic Movement for National Liberation): A popular Communist-inspired movement. Although HADITU's ancestral organizations were founded by leaders amongst the urban working class, their current leadership has - in somewhat of a split from Moscow - taken the party towards a considerable agrarian-socialist direction, and as such HADITU has gained significant inroads amongst the rural poor, particularly in the Sudan, an area largely seen as a backwater. While HADITU has seen members elected to seats in the National Assembly, those elected have refused to be seated since they do not pledge loyalty to the crown.

Swahili Independence Association (KUP): A separatist/autonomist movement in far southern Egypt. Unlike the similarly minded Somali Revolutionary Council, the KUP is entirely peaceful and . The KUP holds almost all of the National Assembly's constituencies in Kenya and Uganda.

Tsardom of Greater Bulgaria
Capital: Plovdiv
Government: Absolute Monarchy
Spoiler Factions :
Voenna Liga/Military League: The Voenna Liga was initially a loose political coalition formed in 1906 of young Bulgarian army officers who sought to curb reform that would grant the provinces and the Sǔbranie greater power over the central administration in Sofia, as well as to revitalize the declining military influence of Bulgaria both over its internal affairs as well as over the rest of the Balkans. A defeat against Serbia and Greece in the 1910 Macedonian War under Tsar Ferdinand I, which led to the cession of Bulgaria's Aegean territories, as well as all claims to Macedonia, provoked a full-out revolt by much of the Bulgarian Army, seizing Stara Zagora, Tarnovo, Varna, Burgas, and its newly crowned capital in Plovdiv within a week. Two months into the rebellion, Sofia was captured, the Tsar was locked up and sentenced to death for betrayal of the Bulgarian peoples, and leader of the Voenna Liga, General Ivan Vǔlkov was crowned Tsar in Tarnovo, Sofia, and then Plovdiv.

United Republics of America
Capital: Chicago
Government: Parliamentary Republic
Spoiler Factions :
The Democratic Party: One of the least powerful factions in the URA, The Democraticparty used to be one of the strongest parties in the former USA. With the southern break-off, Democratic power in the north collapsed. Today, Democrats mostly hold small protests, wanting to return to a more conservative system of government and economy. They are a minority however, not even all that loud either. They also support reuniting continental US.

The Progressive Party: Originating from the Republican Party in the old USA, The Progressive Party is the most popular today. It paved the way for the cooperative system in the URA, and privately organizes much of the mutual aid in the URA alongside various corporations. The party is split on the issue of reunification; while most believe the URA should just move on, a large portion does support the idea. At the same time, they also support the expansion of the American economic model into other countries.

The Socialist Party: While it is the second largest party, the Socialist Party's growth is stagnant. They support a more publicly-controlled version of the system. Most people consider them an offshoot of the Progressive Party.

The One America Party: This party is comparable in size to the Democrats, but are much more extreme right. Under close watch by the government, the party supports installing a state capitalist-like system and the total reunification of the US - there's even talk about eventual annexation of Canada and Mexico. They aren't illegal but many of their moves, such as establishing a militia, has been directly blocked by the URA government. The One America PArty is the only party without seats in the Senate.

The New Republican Party: When the Progressive Party was established, some of its former members thought they had taken it too far. Mostly comprised of middle-left liberals, the NRP advocates the reestablishment of a completely free market and to get rid of the public sector almost entirely. They advocate against reunification. The party is only barely larger than the Democratic party.

United Republics of America
Government: Parliamentary Republic
Capital: Chicago
Spoiler Economy :

[17 Private Factories
3 Public Factories
Tax: 10%
Tariffs: 5
Licensing Cost for Countries: 3
Licensing Cost for Corporations: 2]
The economy of the URA is quite different from many other countries on the world stage in that it incorporates Syndicalist economic theory. Corporations are required by law to become cooperatives. This entails that all workers of a corporation internally share equal ownership of its production. This influences a lot of workplace democracy, as the workers all have a stake in the corporation's success. Corporations are free to compete or cooperate with one another and the government, which does have some role in the economy. The market is also fairly regulated, as corporations are also required by law to ensure that its workers and the public at large are given ample support via mutual aid.

There is something wrong in the map. Also, I reserve European Russia for USSR.

My computer refuses to show the image and says "the image contains errors". So, Sone, could you please claim for me 120 territories in Russia (all of European Russia and as much of Siberia as I can)?

-Вътрешна Македонска Революционна Организация (ВМРО)/Vatreshna Makedonska Revolyutsionna Organizatsiya (VMRO)/Internal Macedonian Revolutionary Organization (IMRO): The VMRO, initially a Bulgarian-supported Macedonian revolutionary organization operating within the bounds of the Ottoman Empire and Greece, was transformed into a super nationalistic political party after the Bulgarian annexation of the Greater Macedonian region. In a tenuous partnership the Voenna Liga after the 1910 coup, but upon the annexation of Macedonia proper, the VMRO has drifted farther from the Liga. Still maintains its revolutionary values, and is accused by Zveno of having Communist ties.

-Демократичен Сговор/Demokratichen Sgovor/Democratic Alliance: Democrats who think they're influential. Still active because the Voenna Liga cannot destroy them without suffering massive internal shock and backlash.

Tax Rate: 4.5%

History:

Being led by a German Prince or Tsar for much of its existence, the rise to power of a Bulgarian Tsar was a welcome relief for much of the Bulgarian peoples. After the 1911 coronation of Tsar Ivan, the Bulgarian army nearly tripled in size, growing rapidly until the eve of the Great War. In this conflict, the new Plovdiv administration found itself pitted against massive odds consisting of a series of historical enemies Bulgaria had fought against previously. Romania, Serbia, Greece, and the Ottoman Empire found themselves attacking Bulgaria, whose nearest ally was a faltering Hungary. Fighting almost all of its neighbors with it's grossly oversized, vastly superior army, the Bulgarians first destroyed the Serbian army at Prizren, annexing much of southern Serbia, while a smaller force overcame the Romanians in Dobrudzha and Bucharest, the Romanians signing a treaty ceding the remainder of Dobrudzha to Bulgaria for fear of further Magyar incursions on weakened Transylvania. Following this, Bulgaria was able to, by 1916, occupy the entirety of Mainland Greece, as well as the Ottoman capital of Kostantiniyye
