Nitpicky Things You'd Like Fixed

As far as City States.

Turn 1 I would like it play as, if you are within the borders you get overlooked.
Turn 2 would be a warning.
Turn 3+ would be a diplo hit.

At least then you could enter look around and leave.

I don't know if this has been mentioned before, and it really is small and nitpicky, but I'd like to have civilizations listed alphabetically by their names and not by leader's name.

Absolutely. Also, with still one leader per civ at this stage it bothers me to have to look up separate articles in the Civilopedia for leader and civ. Let's dispense with that pretence; leader and civ are identical at least in vanilla.

Agreed. Mounted Units are FAR too weak in general. I think they intended the extra movement to compensate, but it's just not worth it. The problem is mounted troops should be able to easily get the flanking bonus vs. infantry but it's not always the case with the way zone of control restrictions work currently.
Maybe mounted units should be able to ignore the zone of control restrictions vs. specific unit types (infantry / foot, etc.) rather than be flatly stronger. And maybe always gain a flanking bonus vs. range units (to portray the use of cavalry in history)

Horsemen and Knights:
Ignore ZoC vs. Melee Units; 100% flanking chance vs. Archers, Composite Bowmen and Crossbowmen.

Cavalry:
Ignore ZoC vs. Melee Units and Gunpowder Units until Great War Infantry; 100% flanking chance vs. Archers, Composite Bowmen, Crossbowmen and Gunpowder Units until Great War Infantry.

Landship+:
Ignore ZoC vs. Melee Units and Gunpowder Units until Mechanized Infantry; 100% flanking chance vs. Archers, Composite Bowmen, Crossbowmen and Gunpowder Units until Mechanized Infantry.

They really need to re-categorize Infantry and Mechanized Infantry into a separate category... the proficiency of arms to hit horses is part of why technology went to landships and armor. Maybe Musketman and Riflemen are "Early Gunpowder" or something similar. Point is as technology advanced, horses eventually lost their advantage... but they definitely had an advantage for a long time and it changed history.

I like that, the ZoC really does hinder any kind of fast, blitzkrieg style warfare and makes mounted units even more useless. I also like the flanking bonus vs. non-gunpowder units.

Similarly, the Musketman is far too weak when compared to Longswordsmen, there is never a sense of urgency to get gunpowder infantry especially when your playing as Denmark or Japan. Gunpowder units should get that terrifying or fear promotion against Melee units to promote urgency and be more historically accurate as fear of the loud noise and smoke of the gun was one of its most effective uses.

I also think submarines should be able to enter territory without open borders for the espionage effect.

The two very nit-picky things I would most like to see:

1. UI notifications for when other players adopt new social policies (and which ones).
2. Quotes from Techs, buildings and era changes continue playing after I click away their windows, like in Civ 4.

2. Quotes from Techs, buildings and era changes continue playing after I click away their windows, like in Civ 4.

In Civ IV that would lead to overlapping quotes, it made a ton of noise and was really annoying... So, for this to be back, they'd have to make it so that the quote gets interrupted if another quote appears.

In other words, if you just reached the medieval era, then you get two quotes: the tech you just researched's, and the era's. Currently, closing the pop-ups shuts the quotes, even if nothing else would get in the way. A-la Civ IV, closing the pop-ups would not shut up any quote, making the era quote start while the tech quote is still going, making a huge mess on the sound. The way I think is best, closing the first pop-up would silence the first quote because the second pop-up also has a quote for it to say, but closing the second one would not because no other quote would overlap it.

On a similar note, I'd really wish leader's themes would stay after closing the leaderscreen. These themes are absolutely beautiful, but when diplomacy can be made in a question of seconds, we might not get to hear much of them during play.
There's already a bug that makes just this: sometimes (not sure what triggers it) the music from the diplomacy continues on even after closing, and I'm always happy when it does that because then I can hear to their theme while playing. :)
Like with the quotes, the music would silence and give way to another if I made diplomacy with another leader.

Finally, make our own leader's peace music be one of the selectable ones while in peacetime. Currently, our war theme can randomly play while we are at war, so why not our peace theme while we are at peace? :p

Also rivers should hinder ZoC.

I agree with the music part. Honestly, some of the war themes are epic but they take a bit of time to get there like Arabia's, Japan's to list a few. I would like them to add a dropdown player that allows you to play the theme you select. (of course you can play your own mp3 if you want.)

As for the horse units being too weak, someone has a really good alternative for them that involve giving horse units a special unit trait called momentum which allows the horse unit to deal more damage depending on the number of tiles it moved to attack the target. That is a pretty awesome way IMO to simulate the fearsome Calvary charges.

That'd be cool, an in-game music player.

I would like to see Air Units that uncover fog of war!

It is so annoying not being able to attack cities from a distance with airplanes because the city isn't in LOS of another land based unit!

Proposterous!

And bring back the Scouting missios for air!

They should bring back era music from Civ IV, too. Listening to Bach in the classical era just isn't the same.

Only if it was culture specific. From the Medieval era onward, Civ IV music was primarily (or was it exclusively?) European. Which is great flavor if you're playing a European civ. Not so much when you're playing China or the Inca.

True. Bach in the classical era playing as Siam would be awkward...

When moving a long line of units, to not always auto next select the unit in the back of the line.

I wish they would bring in Era-specific leaderheads, but that is now something I want to be in rather than what I want to be fixed.

I would love if they fixed the damn war music looping during war-time, so annoying.

Technically you can remedy this with espionage. If you place a Spy in a city it gives you LoS.

please indulge me, but not in a facetious manner.

Upon discovery of Archeology Technology, all over the map archeological sites will be spawned, these areas include old sites of old cities. So you'll be able to dig up cities. :D

(I believe there'll be some randomized sites, as well as old battles).

I believe it's gonna actually say what you found. You cana lso decide to place a Landmark or retrieve an artefact from these sites with a Archeologist unit.
