[BNW] NMH VP(43-CIV & EUI) + more mods!

Because I had to download itself and put it in the mods folder of nmh but I dont know how to edit the location for it to show up in game
Got it! You did it the wrong way. Instead you should put it in your mods folder and tick it in modlist before continuing! Be sure to activate mods that are not included in nmh :D I hope it works out for you

I also have another quick little question I'm not trying to use the city state diplomacy mod and when i delete it from the mods folder and play the game after the screen where the guy gives the intro on ur civ the game has a black screen and says "could not load font xml file" any fix to this?
 
You cannot just delete mod folders from the modpack. They are tied to dll and only by editing dll you can disable them. Moreover CSD is needed to run 4th, 5th and 6th component of VP and as far as I know NMH is doing 43 civ VP modpack (6th component). So it is not possible to remove any part of VP.

A fatal mistake from you. What @adan_eslavo said is true, altering nmh files will result in unplayable game play. I'm sorry for the inconvenience. It is also my fault it isn't easy to take out mods. I'm making a xml file to enable/disable mods(not promising anything anymore tho)
 
Update inbound with quick ai combat, and ynaemp! How to play ynaemp? go to mod and continue. then click custom game. Warning incredibly heavy file worth 400+mb with newest VP and VP+EE

i just found this mod and i am loving it....only thing is i cant get ynaemp to work...the option for custom game is not showing........can you please also had this mod: https://forums.civfanatics.com/threads/ethnic-diversity-r-e-d-unofficial.449070/
I also experienced it after deleting my original cache file. I'll be fixing it on the next update. (no promises :P), Red and red diversity will increase loading time, I've added and scrap it multiple of times before. Possibly adding it on the next update.
 
  • What about EE loading times? Are they still so extremly long or there was an update?
  • I'm gald you took RED and flags mods (even if I stated the opposite while ago). This should improve multiplayer a lot. I think you shouldn't putting back RED for some time. Add some minor UI improvements instead and VP notification we talked about.
  • I like you put Enhanced CS. This mod improves CSEvolved much.
  • What about Caravans make Roads? You did not took them out.
  • I like Era Settlers mod concept. Does it work properly in your test games?
  • Growing Fog seems to be scary. How fast it regrows? Scouts will be leveling fast like hell. How does it work: when you found China f.e. and fogs go back does this city of China also disappears? Becuase new cities settled by Chine are obviously not visible, right?
  • How does the Quick AI turns mod compares to normal Quick Combat and Movement Setting from the game. I had always put it on. Does this improve the game a lot?
  • I'm not a fan of YnAEMP, but I know there are such people. Is it possible for you to put 2 versions of modpack: with and without this mod? Or is it hard to do?

Mod look great but I have to uninstall it after a few try :
- Fog of war come back as soon as you leave a area. It means all informations discovered disapear too. Like ressources. So explore is useless. I will not write on a paper or screen shot manualy where is what. This is a major reason to uninstall this mod.
- There is an issue about ressources icons (food, prod, gold) on the map near the city : they disapear after a few turn, making citizen manageament undoable.

EDIT: I deleted the folder "growing for of war". It's a little hasardous because I don't know what I exactly do, except I suspected this mod to be the main problem.
After that, game look good, so I will continue to enjoy your mod pack. I hope I won't get any issue.
I still get the issue with FPG icons disapear on 2 sea tiles, but just there.

I think this mod "grow fog of war" could be a nice feature for someone looking exactly at it, but for majority of casual players it's just a nightmare. I strongly advice you remove it from your modpack.

Additionnaly, I play these 2 mods, in marathon game :
- larger city (5 tiles exploitation)
- +50% research cost (slow down science a little).

EDIT 2 : I get same bug than superpower clash of civilization modpack : each time I load a save game while Im ingame, it's CTD, i have to launch again the game then load the save for this working.

  • I was worrying that this Fog of War will need to be adjusted or removed.
  • Deleting folders for modpack won't work. I wrote a post in this thread few pages earlier.
  • Slower research will make VP very unbalanced. I thing we shouldn't touch such things to make some victory conditions more obtainable than others. And there will be probably issue with game ending in 3000 year insted of 21st century, right?
  • There's some mod which makes 4th ring of tiles available as far as I remember.

Bah, I don't really use others victory condition than conquest, and I dont care to end 3000ad, it's not a problem if I find that make the game more fun.
About exploitable radius, the mode "large citys" give it to the 5th ring. What I find very nice. I used to play like that with the superpower modpack.

With all of that, I have to say I find this modpack really nice.

The more annoying is this "save-load" CTD bug...

Hi again.
After removing "growing fog of war", I'm currently playing one of the best game of civ5 I ever played with this modpack.
It's excellent, and as solo player, I find it quite balanced, there is no civilisation quickly dead and no absolute leader. I think the game should jump to late game.

  • How is dynamic plot owner change works? I mean this mod which allows you to grab enemy city tile you are standing when you are at war.

It work. I wasnt expecting that, I was really scary when a city state declared war because alied to enemy. Then, my manufactury was gone.
Damn, I was ready to uninstall all. Then I began to understand what happens. Now, I do same, I steal land.
I don't know how exactly. It look it work better if I put unit on enemy tiles.
Iam not sure but it look to there is a struggle over times, even during peace. If I produce enough influence, I conquest some lands.

Now other thing : why building proving happiness in vanilla don't ? How can I build up some happiness here ? It become really problematic.

Here I start with istanbul and erdine. I want to make big city instead of many one.
First mistake. I forgot the number of city help to get more army (I didnt use that since a while because of other modpack I played before).
Vancouver was a city state. After he conquest a land at south of Erdine a betray me, I razed this city, then striked the capital of city state. Because I was really angry.
Ankara is my next city, I send a colon, I build the town 1 turn before then spanish colon. Both was on the same tile. Epic.
It was near impossible to colonize something, AI was really gredy, colonizing each free land of the map.
Then come bursa. Because there was some free land at south of istanbul, ramses regularly sended me a lot of colon. Resulting of frequent wars, because I needed to kill them before they colonize.
Finaly, I colonized myself this tile.

After ramses declared war to me, I sended mass ships south west.
The aggressive aztec guy declared war to him. We was both fighting at Héliopolis.
I saw Pi-ramses was not enough protected, then I conquest that city.
After a short peace, I declared war myself and conquest Phrygien after. I tried again to conquest héliopolis or Eléphantine, but it was impossible.
Then aztec declared war again to me, after I say him to go eat his **** for a story of friendly citystate.
But he was busy elsewhere, it was a low intensity conflict, no attack.
Then suddenly, I sended massive forces conquest tlaxcala.
Actualy I'm building a fort and will stole 2 tiles with 2 luxurys. The most funny, it's after he come laughing at me because my territory isnt very expanded.

What do you get? Post it for @NikMuazHakim to resolve the potential problem. Enable loging and post also your logs.
 
I looked into the logs and saw nothing into it.
I fear to redo a game with that modpack now. Damn-it. It was so great.

thank you @adan_eslavo for mentioning me, i received it via email. Thank you to @Enchanteur for writing your gameplay. :^D

I enjoyed the story so much that I'm going to do a few stuff:
1. Implement latest VP Beta
2. Scrap fog of war, YNAEMP(not working) and
3. nerf barbs even more(or not?)
4. Simplify more stuff inside Global-up
5. Any indication why you had crashed @Enchanteur ? entering new era, build a wonder, ai diplomacy and etc:-
6. A less heavy file.
7. Any suggestions on what mods should i implement next? or what i forgot to implement hrmm~
8. Any time any of us could test mp together?
 
  • Yeah, I asked @Infixo about implementing some Improved City View changes into VP (especially quick invest button in queue). I remember that you managed to make it VP compatible. You can contact him.
  • I'm working on 2 mods for now: one you know "More Unique Components for VP" and second "Promotion Overhaul for VP". Link in my post description. So I probably pass some gameplay together. Maybe @Enchanteur will play with you.
