They probably didn't have the budget for it. It's just marketting puffery anyway.
Really? No trailer, in this day and age. I feel there will be a trailer. Fall of the Samurai had a couple. Civ always had trailers, did Warlords have a trailer? Sure did.

If they did have one, there would've been better times to introduce it rather than 2 weeks beforehand. PAX perhaps. Maybe back in Feb when G&K was announced. Or even when the website went live.

The thing is really it may not be needed the XP has had so much exposure it's not even funny. I am sure there will be a cool intro video. This time we can go right into the game much easier than with Vanilla. I hate hit esc, enter, and clicking the mouse, to get past the intro scene. I am not sure if I have to press all three, just got in the habit of it.

I think that if my timing is right, I won't even see the fire. It seems to vary widely though.
Yeah it does, for me it seems to work better if you start as early as possible. Are you playing one last hurrah of CiV vanilla? I am in a quite interesting game at the moment.

Yes I am. I've been trying to get the achievements for the last few civs that I hadn't bothered with. I'm on Siam at the moment. I also haven't finished a game with England yet. I think I will wait till after G&K because of the extra spy and naval changes.

I forgot all about that video! I turned it off via some .ini file or something right away.

The whole thing would be ten times less tiring to run into, especially if every time you load up the game, it'll randomly switch between the vanilla and the ACTION-PACKED one.

I turned it off too. When I did have it on, I just had to hit ESC once as it started, and then it would stop just as the man's head came into view.

I am playing as America at the moment, in the middle of a war on two fronts. Russia and China both DoWed me, neither will budge for peace.
With GnK, I want to try England out as well, have not played them in Vanilla at all. I may play as either Carthage or the Dutch my first game. My second game I want to try the 'Into the Renaisscance' scenario. The third game will be as England on a large Continents map witht the new civs. After that, I want to get into learning how to mod and make some interesting historical scenarios. At first it will be something easy, because it will be a learning process.
