I'm Empire not mafia. The second, and last imperial. My role is Talon Karrde (http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Talon_Karrde). I started the game as a town-sided alignment scanner who got the result against Count Dingdong on night 1. I scan for alignment, and scan for corruptibility (i.e. if a person is susceptible to bribery, blackmail or conversion).
I was converted by Winston on night 1 (I know, ironic that the corruptibility scanner was himself corruptible), the same night as my scan on Dingdong. I discovered that Dingdong was Evil and Incorruptible (so probably Morgothian). Winston was our converter (and had the death star every second day phase, starting from day 3). He didn't have a cover role, so we decided that he would claim the scan for himself, and claim my role as his cover so that people would trust him. Thus, he contacted people privately revealing the scan against Dingdong and hopefully establishing for himself a trustworthy role.
Then, it turned out that there was a scan against him, and our plan of using my town-sided original role as his cover role fell through. I initially voted for Dingdong, but once it became clear that he was going to hang, Winston said I should bus him, so that hopefully I can survive and we can avoid total defeat. I didn't like that plan since he was our converter, hence my post voting for Winston yesterday is utterly full of doubt. Of course, the town lynched him.
What are the empire's goals? We want to outlive the Morgothians and the Jedi. We want to establish an orderly government over all of middle earth, where people are judged based on their skills and merits, and not based on their place of origin. We want to expunge religious zealotry, be it Morgothian or Jedi.
Tarkin basically spelled it out in his death update
Of course, we is just me now. I just have my scan. No conversion, no kill, nothing else. I want the Morgothians and the Jedi dead. I have no quarrel with the town. I'm willing to use my scan to find Morgothians for the town, since then at least I will get to destroy one of the two factions the empire needs to outlive. If people think the Jedi are pro-town, there's nothing I can do against them anymore and I'm willing to work with them against the Morgothians.
That said, given Lightsaber Man's nightkills, I advise you all to be careful of trusting them. There won't be an Empire, Sith AND Jedi faction amongst the SWs, and having the Jedi as an informed, pro-town minority with a nightkill is just too convenient. Remember what Zack said.
But once again, I can't do squat anymore except scan for alignment and corruptibility, so if people trust the Jedi, I'll trust them to.
So there.
As for Christos, I'm willing to give him the benefit of the doubt. There's no mafia faction in this game, but he scanned me, and I'm really not a townie, though I don't pose any threat to the town.

We've gotten a lot of information from pressuring Christos. Perhaps there is some hope for pressuring people like TFT and CivGeneral after all.

Day 2 Updated the death of Tarkin said:"I have a dream. A dream of a world ruled not by petty ethnic conflict, but by firm - but fair - government led by capable administrators. Free from religious zealots and narrow-minded attitude. We must strive to work for-"
