We would like to thank all who have aided in the expansion of Siamese Trade. The Fiendish Laotian Monarchy has been defeated and good grace and equality brought to the region.

Siam continues to seek modernization. We would like to meet with foreign diplomats and speak of embassies in glorious capitals and friendship so that all my prosper.

In our region war is winding down and peace spreading. Yet, in foreign lands we continue to hear of the terror that leaves many a lives in ruin. The tales are nothing more then awe and speculation, spread by the many sailors and merchants who make home in our humble country. We wish you to hear our pleas'... War is a terrible thing and should not be made in but the most dire of situations... Colonialism in the right hands could allow many to prosper, giving both leader and subject peace. If the stories in Siam are true to the absoluete then I emplore the nations of the west to look to diplomacy for a solution and not the use of armed force. Our work in Laos was fought not against the civilian population but against the military tyrants seeking to enslave and opress.

Seek peace now before there is no one left to the guns of war.

On behave of all Siam we would like to thank you. Siam looks to all nations of Europe as an example of the civilized world. Siam is in fast transition from a backwards barbarion nation to a modern kingdom and look to any diplomacy and goodwill as a way to improve our own nation.

(I've been pretty in and out the other turns, now I think Id fare better to make diplomacy then sit in the dark writing orders and watching them unfold... I did that in the past and I lost Russia :) )
 
OOC: The wording is kinda messed up in the update Number 1; the first entry about Japan and Korea has the two countries switched a couple of times. Might wanna recheck it.

I'm also not happy on the Koreans ability to sink two of my battleships. That's pretty harsh, 4 eco down the drain :/. Must have been some fierce antiquated boats.

China may wish to recheck the facts; there are no Japanese soldiers on Chinese or any other foreign soil. This "Korea" is rightfully part of the Japanese Empire, and we are merely reasserting our position in the peninsula, as well as regaining honor lost to their repeated insults.

We advise that China see to its own huddled, discontent masses, and look to Japan's unity as a model for proper governance. How can we respect the desires of a King who does not even command the loyalty of its own people? Perhaps China should seek to civilize itself before making outrageous demands.

The reason they issues an informal protest was because France was supported by the U.K. and it was well known at the time. The United Kingdom was allies with the Ottoman Empire since the 1878 and they were unwilling to piss them off. However, the Ottoman Empire could have responded to an Italian Aggression in the area.

Also, in my studies of the Ottoman Empire, I have not seen any evidence of substantial debt owed by Tunisia to Italy, Italy was relatively weak economically at the time, and most likely owned more money to others than others owed them.

We see that you have somehow confused yourselves over Korea.

A. Korea is an independent country and is definitely neither a part of Japan nor China, although it is Japan now due to the invasion.

B. I'm pretty sure Japan didn't have a position in Korea, but I could be wrong.

C. We remain strictly neutral although we do not see why an invasion in an independent country is justified over an argument on honor.

OOC: The only claim that matters are the divisions of Japanese in the country. Trying to hit us on that will be a bit harder :p.

You obviously did not care enough about Tunisia in the past or you would have not let them get themselves so far in debt in the first place. The economy of Tunisa was an Italian business matter and the Ottomans have intervened in our affairs. We ask for repayment not only for the debts the Tunisians owe, but also for the ships you destroyed and the troops you killed.

BTM: no, it doesn't work that way.

Shadow Bound: It is effective "last" turn, so to all those that ordered capital ships, you are either getting double, or getting one banked eco, depending on the wording of your orders.

Bombshoo: French Colonization of Tunisia was prompted by a supposed military attack by Tunisian Rebels, an reasonable Casus Belli, supported by the United Kingdom due to their agreements with France. This made any sort of military action by the Ottoman Empire completely unreasonable, since the United Kingdom and France owned the entire Mediterreanean, and, if they needed to, could take out any Ottoman Fleet.

However, there has never been a war fought over unpaid loans, in recent history, as well as the fact that you failed to get any support from France or the United Kingdom. France feels that any sort of war over Tunisia will have them come out on top, and supports the Ottoman Empire. The Ottoman Empire is eager to further their claims in their remaining territories.
 
OOC: Its not a war, its an occupation and things like this have happend many times in recent history. The United States occupied just about every Carribean and Central American country over debts/business interest

And the French certainly didn't feel they needed Italian support to occupy the country.

While I'll admit I didn't have Britain and France's support, and I'll even admit it's not 100% impossible the Ottomans would have responded (Though its still unlikely in my opinion.) My sending troops in was not ridiculous and just as justifiable as any other occupation like this in this time frame and Italy will continue to demand compensation from the Ottoman Empire.
 
Ok, sorry that carried on so long, but I just wanted to make my point. I'm still happy over everything else in the update and will try to be more detailed next time.
