Not-So-Useful units, buildings, GPs and wonders

Rick can be settled in a city like any ordinary Great Artist.
He can also make his "Great Work", "Never Gonna Give You Up".
If he does, all your cities get +2 :) until the creation of The Internet. When this effect expires, another effect starts working: Every day, you get a "Rick Roll" resource. This resource can be disguised as any resource or tech. It doesn't do any effect to you other than:
-1 :mad: "We keep getting RickRoll'd!"
(but it changes into +1 :) "We keep Rickrolling people!" if a Great Troll specialist settles in a city)
In all your cities
However, it has another purpose. You can trade that resource or tech and it will be disguised as any tech/resource of your choice. However, once your opponent gets it, a movie pops up as if he built a wonder, but he will be treated to "Never Gonna Give You Up" video instead. He can't turn it off until it finishes.
It's certainly an useful way of extorting techs and resources out of civilizations, but every use gives you the following effect with the Rick Rolled civilization:
-3 :mad: You have RickRoll'd us!
HOWEVER! It's not in vain for the poor Civ. The Rick Roll tech/resource stays with the civilization and he can pass it on for more Rick Rolling fun!

Somebody give this person a prize! :lol:

Alaskan Bridge to Nowhere (Not-so-useful Great Wonder).

Must be built in a tundra city with one arctic island inside your cultural borders.

Benefits: absolutely none.

-Establishes instant contact with Russia. If Russia is not in the game, one of other civs turns into Russia

:nuke:Instant Nuclear Annihilation:nuke: (not so useful event)

Becomes active once the Manhattan Project is built.
Event can happen when you get -diplo rates with anyone in the INA treaty.
All your cities are hit with nukes!
50%-90% of your population dies!
All your units are destroyed!
Your improvements are turned into radioactive wasteland!
+50 :mad: and :yuck: until radiation is gone.
Years later delightful and interesting mutations will appear!

INA Treaty (not so useful treaty)

Availabe to dictators with nukes.
Treaty members cannot nuke each other.
Treaty members can nuke anyone else and expect support from other INA members.
Once created +5 :mad:, :cry:, and:hide: in non treaty civs.
A member can request a non member civ to be exempt from Instant Nuclear Annihilation.
Members are added or removed through a majority vote.
Other leaders do not add -diplo rates against treaty members for the treaty since it could result in Instant Nuclear Annihilation.

That INA Treaty sounds reall useful to me.

Indeed, we must protect our evil and represiv..Ah, I mean glorious and most loved dictatorial governments from those who try to steal our oil in the name of freedom!:lol:

But the INA treaty would certainly be an interesting addition to the game. It could be a mod or you could have it in the custom game panal where you would be able select wether you want it activated or not as with the other settings. But making it would require someone who knows about SDK modding. Unfortunately I am not that someone.:(

Some additional powers it could have is the ablity for treaty members to defy the anti nuke UN resolution and ultimately it could become a UN like organization itself.

When built, barbs may spawn periodically in territory not belonging to the Civ that built the Wonder.
Will occasionally cause a civ to go into anarchy, switching civics to Police State/Rep/US and State property, an causing a -2 diplo penalty.

Other civs may then declare war on them, switching them to some other civic combination and destroying the economy.

An Inconvenient Truth (The inconvenience is trying to sift facts through the idiotic rhetoric and questionable science)

-1 happiness for all civs not in environmentalism
-15% research
Spawns Al Gore, a great person who can be settled for -1 food, or popped for -10 research.

Nuclear Holocaust (not-so-useful event)

Occurs randomly after al least 10 nukes have been detonated.
All civs are destroyed and your computer becomes a piece of radioactive waste.

+3 :mad: with hit videogame in cities without courthouses and a jail
+1 Comerce per city with them

There's already an old mod with quite similar mechanics than what you described.

Every city gets a /btard specialist, +1sci, -25%culture
If you settle the Rick Astley great artist in the city which built /b, the city becomes immune to unhappiness (Globe theatre effect)
 
Wal-Mart (Somewhat useful Corporation)

• +1 :gold: for every resource consumed.
• Destroys all markets, malls, and grocers in all cities with Wal-Mart.
• +1 :mad: for every building destroyed.
 
2012 (Not-so-useful wonder)
Requires: Hollywood.
+1000:gold: when built (in city with Hollywood).
+2:mad: in all cities in every civ, +100:mad: in 2012.
Obsolete in 2013.
Provides +10 :) and +50 :whew: in 2013.
No effect in Maya Empire, they know better.
