NoTW XIX: The Song of the Nightingale - Game Thread

thomas.berubeg and Rheinmetall, truly you are men after my own heart. Too bad you are both dwarves.

D'artagnan, you must be clear! What did you mean when you said that the voyage would go worse for us without you?

Silently grieve! Does no one here have any brains? These deaths were no accidental tragedies, they were deliberate murder, committed by one or more of the people on this very ship! Tali laughs at the slow-witted and the indecisive, and you can be sure he is laughing at us. I will heed my parents' wise counsel, and will not throw out any (OOC: more) wild accusations for now. But you can be sure that if no one else here has the courage to do what needs to be done in the coming hours, I will!

I am rather taciturn. So I silently grieve.

I never said that I was the key to this journey. I said just to GET ALONG.

thomas.berubeg! How dare you accuse my father? Just for wanting us all to work together? One thing is sure, if we're going to get out of this, we'll need to work together! (Wow, I just realized how cliche that sounded. How do you do that special e with the ` on top of it?)

Midday 1

The morning passed by quickly, as pangs of grief began effecting most of those traveling aboard the Nightingale. However, that seemed to be all they shared, as signs of racial tension began to appear among the survivors almost immediately after the shock of the morning's events started to wear off. Hippus "mercenaries" regarded the "midget" Dwarves with suspicion and vice versa, while all threw challenges at the Lanun "pirates". None of these newly proclaimed orators had any evidence, so all accusations were left rather vague, although the arsenal of names employed was quite varied and quite colorful.

Still, the newly elected Captain, Kol.7, was quick to try and stifle the tension and near open warfare on the ship, indicating that he would be sure to be rid of the passengers at the soonest moment. That only managed to create an even more hostile environment, and the tension still continues. At the same time, the grieving Backwards Logic was rewarded with the only known artifact left behind by Captain Pinman, a Silver Amulet with unidentified blood on it, as well as the engraving "Nightingale".

Even with this exciting and memorable morning, few managed to forget that the ship was still moving further and further towards certain oblivion....

{OOC: Please note that this post is 1.5 hours early}

{OOC: You type the ´and then you type e. Without space or such stuff. é.}

Come now, meaningless accusations such as this will get us nowhere. We need to think, not accuse and counter-accuse with no logic!

(OOC:Eh? It isn't working for me. 'e. Also, `e doesn't work either. See? Neither does it work the other way around.
EDIT: I just realized, your thing is the other way around! How do you do that? I can only do ` and '.)

Meaningless.

Thomas clearly wants to divide us by race. With that, the Hippus and Dwarves attack each other, and the Lanuns drop like flies, making the poisoners harder to catch.

Look. Think about it this way. D'Artagnan59 is right {OOC: for once ;) Just kidding, I wuv ya.}. The enemy's gate is down is not us of different races. No, this is something that goes past racial divides. This is a question of sabotage! And such a heinous act knows no boundaries.

I thereby accuse you, thomas.berubeg, of causing strife among the ship.

My fellow Hippus, I am sorely disappointed in you. You all counsel to "get along" with the Lanun and the dwarves. But use your Tali-given logic on our problem. There is an evil on this ship, perhaps even three separate evils. It, or they, cannot be one of us: I will not countenance that idea. Who does that leave?

However, neither will I accuse thomas.berubeg. He, among few others, seems to have a grasp of the true scope of our danger here, and he does not hide behind false platitudes, but instead forthrightly speaks his mind. I admire that, even if he is a dwarf. He does not strike me as the type to hide in the shadows.

Instead, for now I will accuse zyxcvbnm Wavewalker, who has been nowhere but hiding in shadows ever since the evil occurred. He should come out of hiding and speak if he wishes me to change my mind.

OOC: Heh, I'm in SGOTM 7 with a zyxy. All these people with their unpronouncable names, they should stick to a consistent spelling.

My daughter has already been taken from me, I will not you harm my son, thomas.berubeg, at all! We dwarves have honor, we wouldn't do anything as despicable as you are suggesting.

That's a heartwarmer!

we dwarves aren't the type to forsake and betray their own!

Thankyou, Father!

We need to present a Solid Front against these overlanders!

OOC: It's called sarcasm.

thomas, did you happen to hit your head? First you're calling your sister your daughter, and now you're calling your mom your dad?

It's the beards, no one can tell what gender dwarves are... It seems to me that a man and a dwarf were found to be lovers, which would offend the race mongers among us. This would be most prevalently thomas.berubeg, or Renata, using this logic that would make one or both of them the poisoners. While I would prefer to believe that one would not kill kin, it can not be discounted. I will cast my vote against Renata for now, though he seems much to obvious to be a poisoner

If you cast a vote against someone whom you think probably won't be guilty, does that not make you guilty of obstruction of justice?
