On the other hand, there accusations are rather grave. Niklas, I'd appreciate it if you talked to me in private and told me something about the wounds, that I won't have reason to doubt your word.

But for now I'll go to sleep. May the lynch reveal Earthling's true colours.

I am so very grateful for that comment, ooc-wise, because it's so funny. If that seriously is going to be the major problem...I could live with it I think. Though I assure you, I am not an elf in this Council.

How about you hear me out, though? I'm still willing to let you win the pot of gold and we can talk in private. I can guarantee you killing me will prove nothing but killing Niklas will clearly expose his cult. Also I don't have any items on me or anything the Council will gain from my death while Niklas likely does.

I asked him to share some information in return, for good faith, and for possibly building some trust. [OOC: the OP states everyone belongs to a faction], He is looking for an artifact of Oghma (cf "learned"), and of course no threat to anyone. Then suddenly he is working for Esus, to "protect the council".

Actually I figure this may be a problem that may be curious for a couple of councilors, despite Niklas of course making up half the things here, I do have to explain: I know there is at least one councilor here, (perhaps more?) with a relic belonging to Esus, presumably aiding the Nightwatch. I've had no luck finding you any of these nights and would not risk contacting you before in public like this, but I was tasked to bring my artifact to you. Of course, that was in our Council's initial gathering before the Innocent Councilor met an untimely demise, and my artifact was stolen that first evening, so my task became to recover it. But you know you have your artifact and we need to be working together, so yes, that's all true, help me out here.

Also to the various people gathered here in general to watch this spectacle - if I do not garner support I will probably send all my gold away, through whatever teleporting magic etc...these chambers channel, on this latest auction. So you'll find me dead with no gold and no items, the auction item back up for a vote, and Niklas and his cult allies will laugh at you. Keep me alive and my 4 days worth of income and bribes that are otherwise doing nothing could be in your hands.

Let me be honest on something else here too - I've had three (3)! people come to me and say "just switch your vote to sprig so you'll be safe, we'll work things out later Earthling." You know who you are. And sprig's not here to defend himself - I doubt you're all the same faction because that would be a silly move to make, you just must all want sprig dead for reasons of your own.

But sprig is not a killer. Niklas is very dangerous, whomever he is. And I know that you're all here since you just responded...I won't drag your names out in public but everybody who's here - if you don't want me dead/believe me, then just go vote Niklas. We'd have more than enough votes; don't make this an issue of me and sprig.

And my Learned self knows there's just under 2 hours left before our chambers see glimpses of daylight again. There is time for this with just a couple votes. I'd feel really annoyed if I had to join in and lynch sprig just to survive when I know Niklas is a cultist/killer.

Edit: Oh and I should point something out. You know the night Bad Player got killed? How there was a tie in votes? As far as I can tell someone on sprig's side had extra, secret voting influence. I'm definitely very not comfortable if this vote is going to be decided by something like that with the tally above not really being accurate. And I don't need sprig dead - we can sort THAT out tomorrow - get Niklas and he will turn up a cultist.

I don't like double posting so if this could be merged, or if it stands, that's not my call, but anyway, I want to make this clear:

If anyone wants to show up and vote, here's the cases presented as I see them

-Niklas thinks I'm an elf because I was working with the dead elf healer when I claimed to "heal" him and doesn't believe I'm a mage.

-I, am the other hand, know this is a crazy desperate accusation to hide the fact that Niklas is a cultist. Because I am not an elf, and Niklas wasn't actually cursed - it was some sort of dark magic ritual-thing that I dispelled. And Niklas has stated his goal was to wipe out the other cults, which is the same goal the other cults claimed to have - conclusion, Niklas is a cultist.

- people are voting for sprig just because they want the merchants dead or want to avoid controversy...sure, even though he's not a killer and Niklas is.

Now, reasons why everybody should step up and actually vote/update their votes:
-I'll offer whatever I can in return if we get Niklas lynched and all goes right. Otherwise, my gold gets wasted on this auction or something. To prove I'm serious: 4 gold on the pendant(and more to come if necessary)

-Niklas is actually a murderous cultist and you probably all want him dead! Come on!

-If you step forward and vote you won't be revealing anything about yourself, because you could have any plausible motivation:
You're another cultist who just wants Niklas dead
You're an elf who realizes Niklas is lying and thus he's scum
You were just bribed by me
You want to help/save sprig
You have some other unknown motivation
etc...

We're running out of time, it would be really annoying to just kill sprig and waste items/money etc... plus watch Niklas live, or worse.

Also, j65 is dead and his vote doesn't count against sprig. So this is really close and those of you who are actually here and not asleep somewhere - if something goes horribly wrong, you're to blame.

There's not really a lot of support for switching to Niklas. 1 vote versus 8 doesn't help.

Sigh...not at this point. Except we have an hour and Niklas is likely a killer - if two people on sprig and two on me unvote and switch then Niklas gets the axe. Seriously, the whole OMGUS vote - this isn't OMGUS at all because Niklas is most certainly not an innocent friend of the rest of you, it's the fact that Niklas and I had a very ill-planned and ill-informed chat and one side of the story is true and one isn't...

And how about some discussion on the other items though? I'm almost certain to be killed before tomorrow night out here with no protection so I still want the amulet...don't particularly care for the other stuff but no one else even wants to claim like 30 gold?

This to me screams of desperation. Desperation why?

Also, what happens if Earthling gets the amulet and is lynched? Does it go back up for a vote, or does it go to second place?

And choxorn and CCRunner think carefully if you want this blood on your hands. If you are not outright allies of Niklas, this is very bold of you, since you'll be the ones up for suspicion right next to Niklas if I die.

Especially CCRunner. Since he clearly was okay with sprig dying, in fact, he was accusing sprig before just because he could. Those who are accusing sprig only now to prevent a crazy cult-related lynch, I can understand. And yet now goes after me with seemingly no reason, to swing the vote at the last minute.

How about every calm down a bit? Let Earthling and Niklas have their little slapfight, but for all we know they're both lying their pants off. Sprig, on the other hand, we actually know something about.

Also, I'll throw my hat in the ring for the veil.

I will vote anyone the veil if they'll get their vote off of me and just let sprig die. He's not even here to defend himself and is an infiltrator, fine. And the veil votes are so slim. So think, perhaps choxorn or CCRunner - is killing me instead of sprig, and you both clearly don't care about sprig's life, worth losing an item and any gold I could offer?

I'll vote the gold to Renata, expecting to get 1/3 of it and I'll bid 12 gold for the pendant. I'll take the veil.

Methos - you're wasting other people's gold potential at this point, could get the veil if you'd unvote me, so...
