As I recall, one of our Svarts (can't recall which) incorrectly guessed that since our VC was Svart then the innocents was Ljos. That quickly caused a problem for us. I'm not sure if an actual innocent had Ljos as a VC or not. I just recall the incident we had.

I was telling people my victory condition was Ljos, because the first thing I asked civplayah was if because I was a "human" that I was only a "citizen" and not a Ljos (and again the game signup thread implied only Ljos/Flurry factions) and civplayah told me I should share the Ljos victory. So that's what I went around telling Renata/Seon etc... and probably contributed to the confusion that became public.
It was me that claimed a Ljos VC, and I'd like to think I helped save Earthling in the process. I meant every word I said to Winston and Renata about it, there's nothing worse than death by GM.
The funny thing is that I really wasn't trying to catch you out. In fact, when you claimed to have 'Ljosalfar VC', I accused you of lying because I thought you were trying to catch me out, and I wanted to avoid answering the question myself.
At that point, I had heard of Bad Player claiming to have a Ljosalfar VC, and civplayah had specifically referred to a Ljosalfar VC in a PM to me, then refused to tell me how it differed from my own VC. Hence, I was trying to figure out if Ljosalfar and Innocent* were two slightly different VCs, in case that had some bearing on who I could successfully recruit.
*I didn't learn that it was actually 'Innocent - Citizen' until after we spoke, and had referred to my VC as 'Innocent' a couple of times already. Thankfully, I didn't do so when talking to you, or else you might have figured out that I was Flurry after civplayah clarified the issue.

Winston you knew that there was a Ljosalfar VC (from Civplayah's PM) but you didn't tell everyone that before I was lynched?
To be honest your lynch happened in a very short time period and I don't know what exactly everyone was thinking. However, it wasn't due to a Ljos victory - it was due to the "Largest Faction at the end of the Game" part of your victory I think was suspicious. Others had/claimed Ljos victories too and that in itself wasn't the problem, but then I wasn't around and didn't know about what led to your lynch until after you were gone.
Your VC was 'Innocent - Citizen'. It was your Personal Goal that got you killed.
Yeah, it was totally nonsensical, there was no Ljosalfar faction.
On one hand, this sucks, because this caused the only innocent lynch in the game that any innocents played a hand in. On the other hand, we probably would have lynched J-Man or Nictel if we didn't lynch you, both of which would have sucked.

I keep not having time to finish that AAR, but that was in fact the major consideration in finding a reason *any reason* to lynch someone that people would jump on -- the other candidates were, IIRC, the healer, the single-shot full prophet, and the vig. Once J-man revealed to me partway through that day, I was like OHGOD.
But to reiterate, in the end it was not the VC that was the issue, but rather the personal goal, as Winston said. It looked like an out-of-place copy from the LotR game.

No, it was Ljosalfar as my VC - civplayah just fixed it for the write-up of PM's.
But fair enough about my personal goal sounding suspicious.
