Nubia First Look

I like Nubia! It says "available now" at the end of the video, but I didn't see it on steam anywhere, you guys see it?

I believe the "available now" is just referring to the base game, the DLC will most likely be released later in the week.

Honestly, Nubia is a big surprise, I did not expect that. But I really enjoyed the inclusion of Nubia, it sounds very interesting and it's a new civ with a female leader.

They included Jebel Barkal as a world wonder, developers are definitely including civs with their wonders, so we will have a great diversity of wonders from around the world. I'm really enjoying this.

Nightmare fuel.

Well I was trying to be grand in the celebrations.

Anyway, back to the topic...

This is a great civ! Yeah, it's OP, but personally I don't care (bwahaha). One thing that annoys me is the amount of time one takes in building districts, and the Nubian pyramids are a great bonus in offsetting the amount of production that goes into building them. I like ranged units since it saves me the trouble of constantly wasting melee troops when I attack cities, so good bonus for me.

Nubian pyramids are essentially mini powerhouses of bonuses.

No. We would have seen a First Look for that as well.

If I recall correctly, the First Looks for Cyrus and Alexander were a day apart, so there could be another First Look tomorrow.

I don't think it's likely though, and thus far the scenarios have had very little to do with the leaders in game. A more builder-oriented Pharaoh is not impossible though.

Uberfrog is right we can expect more things to show up!

Woah, woah, at the risk of sounding like Brian in the Monty Python film, I never said we can expect more things. Just that it is a remote possibility.

While I was hoping for an African civ that was a bit more sub-Saharan, I totally enjoy Nubia's inclusion. In Civ5, I loved desert civs, and Nubia looks fun to play-- great bonuses with the added challenge of Civ6 desert tiles means a happy Phoenix1595!

Yeah ur probably right... expect wasn't the right word to pick.. sorry for that. I'm still german after all

Although I was hanging out for Mali or Songhai, Nubia was a great choice. Now wasn't there also a mention of at least 1 SE Asian Civ for DLC5?

Yeah, but I think that's reserved for DLC 06 (now we know what DLC 05 is), which I think will be released much later, considering how this First Look was released weeks after the announcement of the new DLC.

I think they'll prove to be less OP than that (but maybe still OP), as they need to be built on desert/flood plains, and they need to be adjacent to city center to give the district production bonus. So you'll need to weigh the 40% bonus against the production you lose by settling in/close to desert.

Noice! Very happy to see a new African Civ to learn more about and they sound like a very powerful addition to the game. (Although what DLC Civ hasn't to be honest :D )
