Background
Following the economic collapse of 2017 the populace rose up again multinational cooperation stealing African resources for Western interests. The revolution as had socialist leanings as the workers rose up, backed by partisans and other forces loyal to an Africa ruled by Africans. A theory that was lost during the turn of the century because of Western interference in the continent. With western interests having to fight revolutions back home, many saw this as a chance to break free and establish their own path, and establish their path they did.
In March 2020 the last vestige of Western influence was cleansed as revolutionary forces seized the city of Gaborone where Western Mercenary forces were held up. Seizing armories across the country the South African freedom fighters began their second most daunting task, rebuilding social order. Hundreds of splinter groups and gangs all vied for control in the power vacuum. The strong once again dominated the weak and there was no government to stop them. Order began to break down once more until a strong few, united behind an idea of a more balanced society rose up to stop the violence.
Under the leadership of then General Nelson Blair, former military and police units once again rallied, creating safe areas for industry and for people to live. Slowly their idea caught on as many other groups joined them. Slowly their coordinated efforts push the violent offenders out of the cities and order was restored. Gangs were routed out and given a choice, use your skills for good for face exile and death. This proved effective as soon other countries signed on to the idea of an African Federation.
By 2025 after nearly five years of strife, a government was formed and elected representing the people of South Africa. Wrangling the various ideologies was difficult without a unifying vision, take back Africa and give it to the people. While the South had been relatively successful further north mercenary armies still ran rouge. It was the task of the new Federation Army to bring justice and quality to the people. Of course this couldn’t be done without trained men and resources and so, the great build up began. By 2035 with social order restored and a more egalitarian society in the works, President Blair was now ready to commence his wider plan, an ambitious one by any stretch but one that could possibly succeed with any luck.
