Obama makes first big gaffe

So? At least he didn't say he would folow Osama to the gates of hell:demon:

Everyone screws up sometimes, so I ain't holding it against him.

Well, I was implying that he just have 10,000 more people killed, but you're right, your way works better.

Should 10,000 people kill themselves? I think so, we want our political leaders to be right.

If the Democrats do it, it's to be self-sacrificial.
If the Republicans do it, it's to show the horror of mistakes made by Obama.

Of course, that's all the scenarios, because you guys are stuck in your two-party system.

Ooops. I guess thats what you get when you try to politicize a disaster. I wonder how many of these can he survive before people think he is making rookie mistakes?
Rookie mistakes? Like Bush's 1776 reference with the Queen. No wonder the country is a mess. Our President is still making rookie mistakes 6 years in.

Jesus christ on a pogo stick!!

He said what? well it's obvious he means he'll get that many people killed with his lies if ever elected!!

PS. Not that it will ever happen, but I love the way that the possibilty of a black president has lit a fire under certain peoples asses (not the OP necessarily).

Beautiful. :)

Yes, but President Bush couldn't orate his way out of a wet paper bag and everyone knows it, and he's one of the best presidents to come along in a while, so Senator Obama making a mistake like that means... ummm... remind me what the point is, again?

So when Bush ****s up in a speech it's no big deal. When the other side does it we be making threads and slapping each other backs, holding our bellies pointing at the rookie, going ho ho ho?

:coffee: Rain? Again?

Well, the point was (if you had looked at it as it streaked by your head) folks like you expect it of Bush. This is Obama's first.

Who cares if Bush does it? He isnt running for President anymore...but Obama is.

I think it valid to point out such gaffes anyone makes while running for president.

Oh who cares, why does the media always jump on the unimportant details?

Its completely obvious it was a mistake. Unless an f-5 tornado went straight through manhattan not that many could die (Even then not that many would die).

So Obama making rookie mistakes is a big deal and a reason not to vote for him, but Bush making rookie mistakes doesn't matter. :crazyeye:

That's not a big gaffe, it's just a silly misspeaking. Bush supporters should be all too familiar...

did he say anything about timber companies he owns?

Yeah, Clinton had a few like that too. As did Bush I. And probably every president ever.

Yep - too bad too many made excuses for Bush not being able to name the leaders of India, Pakistan, and North Korea when he was running - much more important than a likely verbal equivalent of a typo on Obama's part.

Surely even Mr. Obama has made bigger public speaking mistakes than this before....

Does anyone have handy that huge list of hilarious, ridiculous crap that GWB has said?

"You have black people here too?" (When talking to a Brazilian representative) comes to mind.

Well, the point was (if you had looked at it as it streaked by your head) folks like you expect it of Bush. This is Obama's first.
Folks like me :) It's precious how little you know or understand me but still think you got it all figured out.
Who cares if Bush does it? He isnt running for President anymore...but Obama is.
Who cared when Bush did it when he was? Not me.
I think it valid to point out such gaffes anyone makes while running for president.
And I just disagreed, you might have noticed my disagreement spiraling upwards around your head cleverly dodging the elephants whispering in your ear, o yee of condescending nature.

Everyone has "misspeaks", but the point is that GWB seems to have 10 times more than all the others combined.
