Sid Meier's

It's what I am rooting for!

Just a reminder not to harass, coerce, or threaten any devs, playtesters, members of the media, or streamers/youtubers who may have a hands-on preview. They are probably under an NDA that prevents them from discussing Civ 7, either generally or in detail.
Good Guy Eagle has a very good point and attitude. Be like Good Guy Eagle, folks.Just a reminder not to harass, coerce, or threaten any devs, playtesters, members of the media, or streamers/youtubers who may have a hands-on preview. Probably not to the point of media and streamer previews yet, but it's best to be comprehensive.Wow, do you think they are that far along?
100%Wow, do you think they are that far along?
To me the biggest example of this is what EA did to SimCity. Tragedy.

The money is fronted by 2K and its 2K's stock price that suffers if a revenue stream is delayed. So, whether the new studio head feels a game could benefit from more time in development or not, the game will only get that extra time if they can convince 2K that the cost/benefit equation will improve with a delay.I personally hope the new person is of the opinion that delivering a great game at launch is more important then when it's launched. I guess I'll be stuffing my spare cash for a new computer under my mattress a little while longer.
Civ VIIs announcement trailer has a lot to live up too...same (of course) with intro cinematic and main themeThere was speculation going back earlier in 2016, but it was officially announced on May 11th with this video:
There is no way we get no realase trailer/release date this year, even if the game comes out 2024.Maybe November/ December 2023 release for Christmas market? In my head that would line up for an late March announcement(after Leader Pass is finished)Can't wait! I feel in my heart they wouldn't announce this, only for it to be released in 2024.
Dear 2K bean counters, give me a AI that knows it's I from it's A and I give you money for you game and DLC.The money is fronted by 2K and its 2K's stock price that suffers if a revenue stream is delayed. I presume they will stick for the most part to their rule of thirds.I'm hoping for a bit more change and additions this time. Civ 6 feels too much like a fully DLC'd Civ 5 with some extra mechanics.
Hopefully, the new studio head also isn't a big fan of game-ruining microtransactions.I personally hope the new person is of the opinion that delivering a great game at launch is more important then when it's launched. I guess I'll be stuffing my spare cash for a new computer under my mattress a little while longer.
First EA massively misundertood the player base when they acquired Maxis. They required that the game be played online at all times on their servers, presumably because of some sort of monetizing issue, and the servers couldn't take it. I'd assume they had the idea of adding events, playing with "friends," of course dlc, etc. It very often didn't work, and when it did there were some issues with the game that never really got worked out (one of which is that city sizes had to remain very very small, which kind of goes against the reason to play the game in the first place). So not only did they anger their audience by making this online requirement (and wouldn't back down from it), they didn't have the infrastructure to support that anyhow. Can you expand on this? I miss SimCity.
