All you ever wanted to know about shortguy
(if, in fact, you wanted to know anything)

General information about myself:

I am a 17 year old from a quiet, sleepy town in rural Virginia. I enjoy sleeping, eating, watching television, playing video games, surfing the internet, and any other activity that is conducive to procrastination. As to more...um..."valuable" pursuits, I read occasionally, though any book that I enjoy doesn't last long, as I tend to read it obsessively until I finish. When I go to college next year, I plan to major in a history/government related field. And, for the record, I'm not that short (about 5'9"). However, I was always a really short child, and I identify with short people. What can most be gleaned, though, from my screenname is that I lack even a modicum of creativity. :(

Politics

I have liberal tendencies politically. However, they are (usually) tempered with cynicism. I believe that most politicians are in it for the power, and that (again, for most of them) their principles are secondary to keeping office. Therfore, I try not to get too wrapped up in political fervor, as I know that, realistically, a change in political party changes little (for me, anyway). 2004 election? I would've voted for Kerry, and I was quite disappointed that there was no protracted legal battle that would have made headlines for months to come. Not to change the result, really, I just think it would have been a lot of fun. :p

Political positions (as if it matters much):

gay marriage: strongly in favor
abortion: I tend to leave that one alone; it's a big issue here, and I don't have a strong opinion, though I would tend to oppose it in most circumstances
economics: I don't have a good answer here; I was a socialist, because I distrust the motives of corporations, but I now distrust politicians, also; really, neither system would work that well. Given that neither has a clear advantage, I'll go with limited capitalism; it's worked for me quite well so far (as evidenced by the fact that I'm posting here), why stop now?
government spending: Just balance the budget, please. I almost don't care how you do it.

shortguy's frequently (un)asked questions:

Say, shortguy, what do you suppose your hell would be like?

I can't really say, except that it would probably involve my surroundings being coated with flour. *shudders violently* :cringe:

Who's your favorite 21st century UN Secretary-General?

As if you have to ask...

Ok, shortguy, one last question: what is the best thing ever?

Geez, question-asker, that's really eazy...it's

Curling ribbon, of course!!!!!

Well, that's me in a nutshell. Sort of.

Goodbye everybody! Tomorrow I'm off to join the army, following the footsteps of other Israeli posters. Sadly I probably won't be able to keep posting here, as I'll only be at home for short periods of time and I want to spend as much of them as I can with my family and friends.

I would like to thanks the forum and the people who run it, thunderfall and the moderators, those who do their work today and those who were here and left.

Finally, I would like to thanks the other posters in this forum. Those who agree with me and those who don't, you have all made this a very good and positive experience. I've learned a lot from you all, throgh arguments and through observation. I truely feel that you have all helped me become a better man.

Goodbye, I wish all of you nothing but good things.

Finaly , you will have your chance to bonk some palestinian head, you must be proud of yourselfe. Dont forget to potshot some little palestinian girl while in the mean time your friends bulldoze their house and perform collective punishment, all this to protect the jews land graber. :vomit:
Moderator Action: Flaming and trolling. Warned.

Hey, I didn't know this thread was still here. I've been gone for well over a year, but back briefly this Christmas break between classes. Actually playing a Civ II game for the first time since then, as well. Only about halfway done with school, however, so it's back to the books come January. It's amazing how much CFC still looks the same :)

A Beginner's Guide to h4ppyism

Real Life History

I refuse to tell much of my real life. I was born on May 20, 19__. I live in Harrisburg, the most unimportant state capital ever. The only people who live here are government workers. I have no life outside of the internet.

Online History (not this site)
I first joined the gamefaqs forums. (and have since been perm-banned) I hung out in the Nex-Gen forum. (don't bother going there, its full of trolls)

I was active in the early stages of Model Parliament. (when it was still on this site) I quit when it relocated, and haven't been back in months.

I joined toonzone after quitting model parliament, I have no personality over there so don't bother looking for my posts.

Civfanatics History (this is the stuff you should care about)

I spent four months as a generally below average poster, but still quite capable of raising a point when I needed to. When model parliament was formed (New Years Eve 2003, IIRC) I immediately jumped on. I was quite productive there. (people actually replied to my posts, yay) However at the same time most of my Off-Topic posts degraded into horribly predictable attacks on liberalism and I was ignored by all. Once I quit MP the quality of my posts when back up, but still noone replied to them. (I guess some people blocked me or just didn't bother to read my stuff anymore) Which leads me to where I am now, an almost nonexistant persona who rarely posts. I only read nonreligious political threads now but since those are very common odds are you'll see me eventually.

Political Views

I could be described as libertarian with some conservative values. basically moderate libertarian except for abortion, drugs, the death penalty, and socialism. (I'm so antisocialist that I could be described as a extremist) I am basically a proponent of "reap what you sow," thus my love of the death penalty, and hard labor for criminals, aswell as my unacceptance of abortion. (the fetus did nothing wrong)

Other Stuff
The name is not "Happy" because the administration didn't reply when I asked for a title change.
The avatar is the Dutch Pimp Unit (DPU), a modified William. He's currently sporting his Christmas pimp gear. (or whatever you call it)
My signature has been recently reworked to get rid of the old stuff, and no, I won't tell you what the current one means.
The reason this post is so long is because I am so important that you should memorize all this stuff.

This is the last post I will make here. I personally promise that, on my honor. The mods are obviously continually biased against me, for whatever reason - and it's just getting old. They're just way over-active, I guess. Whatever, that's only part of the reason I'm leaving. And seeing as how I'm not stupid, can read between the lines, can take a hint, and know when I'm not welcome, the time has come. I assure you no one is looking forward to this more than I am.

Being as methodical and meticulous as I am, I am now going to go through the following checklist, to kill this account beyond repair. Effectively banning myself - guaranteed never to return. This can be a guide for anyone else that might want to follow this course of action. First, comes the simple stuff...

1. Delete all attachments.
2. Delete all private messages.
3. Delete avatar.
4. Delete all thread subscriptions.
5. Delete location, signature, reset custom user title, and all other profile & options info.
6. Disable private messaging.
7. Post farewell (this) message.
8. Go to change password. Enter a bunch of random characters into the new password line. Copy that into the verify password line. Save it. You now will be unable to relog-in.
9. Go to change email. Enter an invalid email address (e.g. dontcontactme@goaway.com). This will deactivate your account.
10. Log off. The account is now completely buried. Leave the forum with the personal vow never to return (I am very good at this historically, with other forums, and it's always very easy when you determine the forum is to some degree a bad/negative influence, as I now have with CFC).

Man, I feel a lot better now. You all have a nice day. Good luck, God speed, and Semper Fidelis.

I kind of liked Panthera Tigris. Clever-sounding conservatives, or at least non-liberals, are in short supply 'round here.

Bye Pannthera Tigris :(.

PantheraTigris2 - you will come back.

This is the quit of a whiner. Who needs to inform everyone that he will go and never come back usually has still some feelings connected to this place. Leaving because of "mods biased against you" is also a bad reason.

I know MANY persons in a MMORPG named Ultima Online who quit a certain community because "mods were biased against them" and for whatever reasons. Most of them came back.

To quote ohwell:
Why bother posting a farewell? We're not going to feel pity for you.

Don't slam the door on the way out.

so i hope to see you in back in better mood next year.

I know I will never leave, regardless on how bad it is, I mean, this is the first fourm I've been on.

@Panthera Tigris: Like Keirador said. It's boring to start a conversation when all that ever happens is agreement. We need logical conservatives like you to keep this forum interesting. And what mod bias are you talking about? A little regulation may be irritating, but I don't think it's a good reason to leave the forum. It's not like they're deleting every post you make to spite you.

That's not very nice. :(

I liked Pantera but I guess he's gone, what with the changing the password and everything, unless he forgot to log out (please be true.)

It also expresses a need to convince oneself one's not coming back. The need for such convincing, of course, is in itself a suggestion the exit is likely to be less final than one'd like to.
