If we use ruling of schedule changes and prevent all "next week" sentences in the rules, this doesnt matter. But as long as we have those sentences and references in there, we need to define it.

BTW:
be careful when you state "on the first week of the year" to others there are 3(!) definitions of this...
a) Week 1 is the first week of year with >=4 days (MON-SUN)
b) Week 1 starts on first Sunday of year (SUN-SAT)
c) Week 1 starts on first Monday of year (MON-SUN)

btw: version a) is the ISO standard week which shows using monday as start of week is standardized P

ZULU TIME!!! That's the way to go

24 Hour Clock set to GMT... that's what alot of the military uses. Zulu time is concidered the World Wide standard, it's calibrated to GMT... you just have to know what time zone your in to be able to relate.

So I'm posting this at 12:02 PM EST. In Zulu time, that's 18:02. Since the Eastern coast is -5 hours from GMT.

Wouldn't that be 17:02? Or am I missing something in all this "Zulu" malarkey?

Zulu time is the same as Greenwhich Mean Time and Universal Time Coordinated. Zulu is the military term for the letter of the alphabet assigned to that timezone.

I agree with a rule that says we use GMT or whatever for the official time zone.

Anyway, I nth Zulu Time (military, GMT). Sounds fine.

I rather disagree with the concept of Zulu time. It seems like a nifty idea at first, but it is unnecessary, probably won't be used all the time, and is a tad complicated for many people.

((Imagines the many possible PI's resulting from not using Zulu time -_-))

I'd say we use GMT time, but stick with the normal AM/PM labels.

btw: we dont use GMT-time at the moment, we use UK-time

as that is the forum time (sorry i was wrong earlier).
the timezone-label of the forum seems to be wrong...

reason: GMT does NOT use daylight savings time... but our forum does........

The intent of the chat scheduling rule was to have the President post the schedule each Sunday for the following 7 days. The week starts on Monday that is why we call Saturday and Sunday the "weekend".

If you want to remove all confusion just replace "week" with "the next 7 days".
