Swedish cursing involves alot of words for "devil".

When I was in Norway, I picked up a lot of bad words from my roomates without really knowing what they were. One day I was helping out a choir group in the local church by providing some guitar accompaniment, and stubbed my toe on a pew. That's the day I learned what 'fy faen' really mean (the devil. IIRC)

Quebec swearing is a great part of the culture, and very telling of the interesting relationship the province has with the catholic church....

Amen....

This is so true, I think it was caused by the strictness of the catholic church back then.

My parents stopped going to church when they had the liberty to do so, like much Quebec parents in the seventies.

At least the Quebecois use something else than sexual body parts for cursing :)

Good point. I guess we can learn from Quebec. :)
