Oh, the weather outside is...

I noticed while eating lunch today that the sun was out for the first time in almost a week. My mood was buoyed by that sight.

I'm glad the fire didn't move into town, hobbsyoyo. I have a relative whose house burned down in one of the forest fires this year, after having been evacuated. It's crazy how widespread they've become.

Even when the fires are not close, we have adjusted to having them as a permanent feature of the summer and expect weeks and weeks of awful air quality. Ironically, whenever there are huge fires that break out, my relatives call to see if we're ok even if the fires are way over on the other side of the state. This fire was relatively small so it didn't make national news and as such no relatives called even though this was the first time we were under an evacuation warning and had to tape up the windows and prepare to flee.

Warm and sunny so went exploring.

Spoiler Meh :

Supertyphoon Rolly has moved through Manila and out into South China Sea where it's been downgraded to a tropical storm. In the central Visayans where I am, the weather should be fairly nice.

I remember a family in town had a satellite dish for their TV, but this was back when they were a few yards across. Then came those little ugly ones. I liked the big ones!

It’s raining here and the humidity has gone up a bit. I’m assuming so because my humidifier has been running continuously for twelve hours and the water level has hardly gone down at all. Contrast to the other day where it was almost completely empty after eight.

Holy :gripe: High winds. Pouring rain. :run:

The rain was driven in around the window and door frames. I went downstairs to watch Goldfinger, but I was ordered away by folks slinging mops who feared I would slip, fall & hurt myself. :whipped:

Tropical storm Siony is passing over Batanes Island, which is our northern most province. It will then turn left, head southwest, and go down an smack Vietnam. :shake: It's affecting us with rain-no rain-rain-no rain-rain-no rain-rain-no rain-rain-no rain-rain-no rain. :twitch: My driver got tired of trying to paint the metal sheets for our carport replacement roof in the backyard and so moved the project up to my third-floor patio where he'll be under cover.

East of us, an area of low pressure is approaching and should get here tomorrow night. It may develop into tropical depression Tonyo

Alternating between warm days and overcast and wet often on the same day.

We applied silicon to seal the gaps. :D

Tonyo is coming. Unlike all these other storms, we should take a direct hit. It is growing stronger an should be a tropical depression when it gets here this afternoon. We've put Polilite [25 times stronger than glass] over our most vulnerable windows.

Edit: Rain is starting now. 08:57 local [Hong Kong] time.

Tonyo shot through here. Radar shows it's already two islands over.

We got rain up here too, sounds pretty hard but it could just be the sound amplified by my building. Pretty warm too. I could take this temperature all year round really, 65F here (is that 18 in those crummygrade units?)

Few pretty warm days, could work with t-shirt for some time too, (9-12C; some places near got like 14C that is highest temperature of certain date there). Not too much rain, most times cloudy/sunny with just little wind. Good time to collect fallen leaves and do other outside jobs in order to slowly prepare everything for winter. Might freeze a bit at the end of next week but looks like will get above 0 again after. Over.

Blizzard. Not a severe one, just enough to be really noticeable and make me put on another layer of clothing.

At least it's a dry one so the weight of the snow isn't going to be dragging down any power lines.

It rained all morning yesterday but then the forecast said the chances for rain in the afternoon were low so I risked it and went on a bike ride. I got drenched and had to take shelter under a few underpasses as I tried to make my way back home. It was exhilarating.
